Classic Media character featured in latest TV ad campaign for optician.

Classic Media has joined forces with UK optician chain Specsavers, in a deal which will see Postman Pat front its latest 2-for-1 TV ad campaign.

Airing from Tuesday September 1st, the animated ad follows Pat and Jess the Cat on his delivery rounds. Pat accidently sits on his only pair of glasses, but still has to make the deliveries, stumbling from one comical mishap to the next.

The ad ends with the strapline 'Should have gone to Specsavers, Pat'.

"The ads will bring about fantastic exposure for the Postman Pat brand at an incredibly important time of year," said Claire Shaw, director of consumer products at Classic Media.

Specsavers' marketing director Richard Holmes added: "We're thrilled to have Pat onboard for our latest tongue in cheek ad campaign. Postman Pat has been loved by the nation for more than 28 years and we feel the ads will appeal to those that either grew up with Pat or brought their children/grandchildren up on the brand.

"The ad will evoke a sense of nostalgia, whilst the humour will serve to engage adults across both brands."
