STAGE 3
If I remeber rightly even at Stage 3 it is at the managers discretion wether to impliment it or not. Hope you manager does not have any axes to grind. Our managers usually pass the buck to someone from another office, who reads the paperwork but does not know all the ins and outs. It annoys me that Stage 1 and 2 can be enforced without any say in the matter at all.

STAGE 3
Yeah it is,
Did my best and my union rep was fantastic. At stage 2 it was noted that the manager had recommended ATOS call me which they claim they did.The union rep noticed tho that the letter sent to manager saying 'occupational health has decided the next step of the stage process is recommended' didn't have a signature, correspondance or even a date so that hit them a bit.
All i can do is pray now but thanks all

STAGE 3

If you take lots of 1 or 2 days sickness then although you show a willingness to get back to work as soon as you can, you still fall foul of the managers who enforce the rules rigidly, instead of treating each case individually.
Just for info here is the current process for Stage warnings:
Stage 1: 4 absences or 14 days in a 12 month period
Stage 2: 2 absences or 10 days in any 6 month period during the next 12 months
Stage 3: 2 absences or 10 days in any 6 month period during the next 12 months
And i think if you dont take anymore than 4 days in the year then you revert back to the total start. Thats what i have been told as im on a stage 2
u used to they changed it you just go back 1 now

STAGE 3
It does sound vague - some of the stuff I've seen from ATOS is shoddy , riddled with errors and amateurish , contradictions and begging more questions than answers as they tell RM only what they want to hear - that next stage recommended - means sack him - however a lot of this wouldn't look good outside the PO - a bargaining point ?MAILMAN84 wrote:Yeah it is,

tom
ATOS always put that " we tried to call he or she " on etc - superficial corporate b***ocks - not worth the paper it's written on
Not a nice experience
MURDERERS. Need to dispose of a body? Simply parcel it up and post it to yourself via DHL. You will never see it again.

Re: STAGE 3
Hey guys,
Had really bad panic attacks this morning so bad I couldn't make it to work. I've just realised I was off for one day in March meaning that's 2 absences in a 6 month period. Having had a stage 3 before I am expecting the sack. Just wondering if there#s any loopholes I can use thru mental health act. Last stage 3 the cluster manager said that I couldnt use my panic attacks as an excuse this time as I was getting referred to Royal Mail medical. I never had any word from them again so can I use this or should it be my responsibility. I mean 2 absences since last october of 2 days and im out the door, WTF?

That Cluster manager is NOT a doctor - same old story
. I'm not sure if I like what that Cluster Manager has implied there - I bet he'd deny it , - Is this threat of being sent to OHS & using attacks as a excuse in writing ?
I'm not sure if this would look good in a Tribunal as it appears they've not followed their own procedure with a BRF & arguably not acted reasonably .
It makes me laugh as there's a few managers that have got away with " colourful " sick records as they've got depression or are depressives

Thanks mate they're pigs, 2 days to me is nothing and if they knew the struggle I had to get out the house each day theyd be impressed.
Ach well, do or die. Thankfully my union rep WAS there last time and the man is a genius

Have you seen this topic well worth a read my friend.http://www.royalmailchat.co.uk/communit ... 28&t=18417
Section C is the one either you or your rep should bring up.

Royal Mail managers.....about as popular as a t.urd in a swimming pool!
The DDA/Equality Act demands action,NOT words......adjustments NOT Occupational Health referrals.Case No:2505901/09
Royal Mail is an Equal Opportunities Employer..It discriminates against everybody.

Thanks guys, love this forum. Much appreciated. TBH at the moment i'm sorta thinkin about the tribunal if i get sacked. Cannot see how I can be classed as having bad attendance with 2 days in 10 months. One of the previous employees was sick every months but the manager was cunningly putting the absenses through as holidays...

Re: STAGE 3
can of worms which RM would like to keep a lid on ? & potential PR disaster ? if a ET was reported in the press ? - they'd need Evershed's Barristers to make this lot look superficially straight at great expense - you'd still have to go through the RM appeals system , that's to grind people down in the hope that people don't go outside the PO .MAILMAN84 wrote:Thanks guys, love this forum. That Cluster manager what a f***ing ar**hole - I'm surprised nobody assaulted him ? not that I would condone that

Re: STAGE 3
Told my rep this week that if I get a sacked at my Stage 3 interview that is due soon I will be taking it to a ET. If it gets reverted back to a Stage 2 again can I appeal? I have gone a whole year without any sick apart from my AOD and I'm going to be really really pissed off it I'm put on a Stage 2 again for another year
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets

Re: STAGE 3
think you should be taken off RMAP - by putting you back on a 2 , you were effectively on Probation which as a lot of people know is very stressful , they've failed ( maybe deliberately ? ) to make " reasonable adjustments " for a DDA condition .Stormproof wrote:Told my rep this week that if I get a sacked at my Stage 3 interview that is due soon I will be taking it to a ET. They'll tell you to " take care " if they think you'll play on it ,
AOD's should not count - that's unfair detriment for H&S concerns , they've a wooly statement saying A.O.D.'s are normally discounted but it's up to RM to prove that you brought the accident on yourself not a DIMDUM playing God Almighty .
Always report accidents as Industrial Injuries to the Social so RM can't close ranks . If you've valid H&S concerns report them to the Council Environmental Health or HSE too . RM won't like it but it's a workplace , not a Prison or the Playground but people would be forgiven in thinking it was ! .
Also as said before , if there's a Health issue ; RM should have had a BRF form done and sent you to don'tgiveATOS
That - " You can't use it as an excuse " wouldn't go down well in a IT .
If they wanted to get rid of you they should have done IHR , those cosy little deals for " favoured sons " wouldn't look good in a IT too .
Underhand shower of shysters ? :lfo :cfo

Re: STAGE 3
These stage warnings are just another way of bullying tactics for doms to use. I got a stage 1 warning a couple of years ago, even though i handed in a doctors line, it makes no difference at all. So what is the point in handing in a doctors line because no matter what way you look at the procedure your still getting s*** on from above. I then got a stage two because the dom told me to go home because there was no work available, completely unfair.

Re: STAGE 3
This is the worst bit when ur stage 3 is triggered like mine just has and u have to wait months to find out if u still have a job. Managers love firing peeps i fear.
