Management say they will attempt to reduce the impact of the strike
Royal Mail staff in Carrickfergus have gone on a 24-hour strike.
The industrial action will affect the delivery office. Management, however, said they would be working to reduce the impact on customers.
The strike is part of a UK-wide protest by members of the Communications Workers Union over pay, job security and working conditions.
Union representatives have called for negotiations over Royal Mail's modernisation plans.

I heard from our driver that the driver going there was threatened that if he didn't cross the picket line he would have his entire pay for the day stopped. What a wonderful, caring employer we work for

67 people had their pay stopped for refusing to cross Essex rdc strike last week and delivery staff all across Essex have been threatened with days pay stopped in deliveries for not working hard enough.
good to see we have a caring employer who believes in zero bullying and harassment , unless its by a manager

The sooner we go all out the better, I really believe that this will be the only way to stop RM in their tracks.

yes you are right, can spend 4 hours to get to a rdc or office, and then refuse to cross drive all the way back and then don't get paid. also being told by the union that we have to work as normal as we have not been balloted.disgruntledpostie1 wrote:I heard from our driver that the driver going there was threatened that if he didn't cross the picket line he would have his entire pay for the day stopped.
