Must be Outer/Inner London as I certainly don't get £300 take home pay for a FT duty - £270 more like.

Great letter though, I feel like smacking people in the face when they ask me if i've had a lie in as i'm delivering at 10am :evil/mad

Don't have to be Cracker to see this poster almost certainly didn't write the original letter.

Good letter actually, but a shame someone else's claiming to have written it. That'll get those Hellmail people going...

now let's speculate on who could have wrote this letter....

Spalding...no strike ballot...loads worked last time...local rep did his stint on the picket line and then waited for his S**B mate to finish so he could give him a lift home....

don't sound like the rep...don't sound like a postman 'cos not too many think like that there....

my guess is that its that ineffective branch of mine trying to paint a picture of militancy when there is none...

well heres an odd one for you all. The union man got a wu envelope today and this very letter was in it? Maye it s been sent to all local papers and union reps? The truth is out there!!

on a side note, people have booked OT this week and have been told that they wont be getting it. They have been told to ct off. In which case they get issued letter for " going slow" what a load of balls

20 people worked in 2007. There is a militant aspect , sadly the plac is now full of PT and 20 / 5 hour staff.

The bit about the rep is false mind. Sorry

So you are saying it was all part-timers who worked during the last strike? I have it on very good authority that the majority that turned up for work in the Spalding office were full-time staff!!

It has a reputation of being a very conformist office. Will that change during this round of strikes?

A reputation ill deserved, we had a charity football match last year and a couple of guys got tackled bad and started a mass brawl, we were called al sorts from the sidelines, the majority stood on the gate every day and support the bigger offices whatever. There are few yes who didnt but more fool them. Many at our office care deeply about what is happening and yes to answer the question even we have been suprised by who has been asking questions and asking if they can strike, when is it, etc etc.

Hell will freeze over before the majority of us cross a picket. period

Good for you. I don't think it's healthy to create some kind of divide between FT and PT staff though. There is no reason why part-timers would not feel the same as us FTers about the liberties being taken.

If they are freezing overtime at your office, you could argue that it is actually the part-timers who will be suffering more.

I've said it before on this site. The Union need to reconsider their stance and actively campaign to get these new small contract part timers into the union pronto, by ditching fees for anyone on less than 20 hours. The way Royal Mail are going, there will come a time when there are more of them than there are of us, so to keep the union strong, we need them in it and educated on how it runs and what it can do for them.

There is too much bias shown towards full time staff by the union and it needs to be addressed, for it's own sake.

You sound like you are the rep!

Are you?

According to the sub area rep at the time, he caught this "man of action" in his car after the picket line had finished. He asked him what he was doing. He told him he was the manager of a local football team and was waiting for one of his players to give him a lift....this player was someone who had walked past him on the picket line and had gone to work.

I know from experience what a pathetic picket line Spalding was in 2007. Noone was challenged. Everyone who wanted to, drove straight in without any persuasion being offered from the rep or his pickets.

I hear this local rep has had a brainwave as well. It seems that because the rounds there are so ridiculous, him and his members are going to continue to complete them every day, and when they have banked 8 hours of unpaid overtime they are all going to have a day's sick....wonderful...if the rounds are too big you work your time...end of...
