Typical crap from RM, trying to turn office against office.
We are all in this together, London /Welsh/Irish and Scots posties,
we will need all our strength to combat the nasty/low down tricks used by a usless RM managment.

Return a YES vote. :Applause :Applause :Applause

By the way I admire your sense of humour London Posties :chuckle :chuckle :chuckle :chuckle

Stop worrying about other offices, this is what managers want, Confusion. Strike for your office, your working conditions, stop bullying in your office, stop harassment in your office, stop intimidation in your office, strike strike strike

Well rightly or wrongly there are vast differences between areas, offices and that is a fact. That is not the fault of the posties and should not be a bone of contention other than as an amusing aside. The problem is with the agreement made in 2007 that left the door wide open to "local agreements" which have been good for some and bad for others. Many of the issues which are being hailed as the reason for the strike ARE actually up and running in many many offices and those are the ones who need to be persuaded to vote for action. The divide and rule is not something new, it has been a feature of RM management for at least two years.

I'm sure no one believes a word managers have said on this subject and if they do believe what they say they must be stupid.
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets

TrueBlueTerrier wrote:Its like 2007 again SW17 - back then we got loads of the divide and conquer posts and we seem to be getting more than normal at the moment.

To be honest any thread that starts with these or similar titles should be taken with a pinch of salt.

Why does x office not lapse
Why does x have job and finish
Why do FT have an easier Job than Pts
Why do PT have easier jobs than FTs
Why don't drivers ---------
Why don't walkers ----------
Mail Centre have it easy.
Why don't deliveries work all paid hours

The posts may well be honest and posted by members in good faith, or they may be posted by people pretending to be posties to spread doom and gloom, there is, in truth, no way to tell so everyone has to use their intuition and common sense when reading them, and deciding their veracity, and ultimately whether to reply or not.

The answer is management, its their job to ensure duties are equal, after all they get paid more than us to do that, but it seems they cant do it!!

In my D.O IPS finishing early is giving the FT at least 30 mins a most days extra time to do their jobs, even the absorption isnt 30 mins work, yet.

Did the dim doms mention that any londoner who finishes his/her walk in 2 hours must be breaking every H&S rule in the book, what a load of bull I'm only about half way round after 2 hours and we lapse as well, one extra row after doing me own walk and Im completely knackered!! I think the problem is a lot of these doms haven't done a walk in years if at all.... :arrrghhh

Our DOM said in WTL" ..................................................................zzzz.................zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz......Any Questions, right off you go."
2 questions,
1. What is a DOM
2. What is WTL
We haven't had either for months! Bet you London boys are jealous now! :dance
Eveyone needs to realise that RM do not tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

"how can you tell if your manager is lying?" Well some people say it is when his lips move but I don't think this is an actual requirement :dance

London postie. Work to time virtually every day. Last week 20+ cut-offs in my office on one day. They want us to lose about 40% of our workforce. The projected walks are a joke. We can't cope now - NOT ONE of the projected new walks is do-able. Bullying from management commonplace. Cut out and must complete the following morning. Then absorb duties from those absent. THEN do your own walk!! We are all totally exhausted but EVERY stage 3 results in dismissal!! This will be coming to an area near you soon. London easy?? Get real!! It's why the shires have always let us down in ballots. Their smiling faces in Courier!! All RM want is loads of part-timers on short contracts. What is happening in London will be spread to the rest of the country. SA will go. Monthly bonus will go. Christmas bonus will go. D2D payments will go. Pegasus will rule - if the computer says it's do-able then go and f***ing do it! We're shat on by RM, as well as senior CWU and let down by our countryside brethren. We are in the midst of petty industrial action (one day a week - whats the point) while RM impose the ridiculous Pegasus schemes. London easy??? Transfer to my office then!!!

I'll go along with most of that. I heard that the data put into the pegasus-georoute is a constant 4mph walking speed, 20 seconds for each call you make with packets , priority services, allowing for writing out 739s, etc. and that they reckon that these items account for 4% of your calls. So for every 100 delivery points you will have 4 items that will cause you to knock and wait. RM refute this but will not divulge the rates to the union.

The pegasusssed walks in our office don't work either - and it is the light period. Management are moving bits around and we now have "handovers" from one walk to another. A sure recipe for disaster. We have absorbtion on top of this and loads of blokes are STILL using their cars and running round like blue-arsed flies to try and get it done. We get a lot of failures and you know what? It is all OUR fault because we are not working fast enough. You couldn't make it up

:hmmmm :hmmmm :hmmmm :hmmmm :d'oh! :d'oh! :d'oh!

We have two hybred duties in our office and the missus was put on one a couple of weeks ago and as we come from ten miles away to work with one car i had to do my duty late turn as well with the DOMs reluctant consent.
We also both do two SAs a week so the result was we were at least £100 down that week and the funny bit is the DOM wants to have three more hybreds which NOBODY wants as their duty.

Pay cuts anyone???.

Same same - but RM struck whilst the iron was hot and no one seemed to know the extent of the 2007 agreement, so everything was apparently "agreed" - unbeknownst to the likes of us and with local union complicity we were led into all sorts of crap that no one else was actually doing - it transpired that the model for our park and loop was actually from a trialwhich was carried out in a place geographically far removed from us. Still you live and never learn, there is a move afoot by management to continue summer lapsing and I believe the office will blithely go along with it. This office is now conditioned into believing that whatever the management want to do they will.

I believe our local union set up is basically flawed, no-one knows the agreements, what is and is not agreed and how to unite the work force into resisting change. I've said before it's more like a genlemens club than a unit fit for combat.
