Friday was a bit easier. Saturday was not bad at all, very good for packets. Monday was busy. Last week we went on to 2/3rd of a row for lapsing, from 1/3rd previously.

Ha Ha, we are still talking lapsing WTF is that? something from the Chinese take away on a Saturday night? Stll not done any and wont because i dont have time if you do its because you walks easy! (Get over it and do it!) Or your a flyer (Try to do your job properly instead of risking your job and life!) or an office creep (Fill your boots youl get what you deserve!) FFS how hard is this? WE WORK OUR HOURS NO MORE NO LESS unless we wish!

Linkin, you are a complete idiot. My walk, as are many of the walks in our office, take about 4 hrs. I don't call that easy, with nearly 550 drops and a call rate of about 90%. As for the lapsing, well theres a silver lining there. If people can't do the job in time, they claim the docket, which also stops the problem of willful delay/ conduct issues. As for being a flyer, no, I come in on time and do the job right. I also have to say that I work in one of the biggest and busiest offices in Manchester, but we are surrounded by offices with less mail and easier walks.

2 things - Mods hat on - dont call members and idiot - its against the rules.

Mods hat off - Your bit about docket - what about people who have personal commitments which mean they cannot do docket - this is the problem with lapsing - its makes assumptions about duties and the managers believes a computer not the postie.

Banging me own drum, I work hard when I am at work and I rarely stop (except for MR) and I will work to my time if asked, but not over and if I say I can't do the duty in the time given then that means I can't.

My regular manager does believe me and will do what he can, but he is being pushed more and more by managers above him, and in that lies the root of all our problems in delivery. Managers who are far too removed from Deliveries now decide and lay the law down of the day to day running of duties, they do not realise, or at worst ignore, the problems they are storing up for the future. The bubble is about to burst - around September I hope.

Busy day all round. Lapsing took, with bundling and bagging, about 1hr 30 mins, or there abouts. Docket going in tomorrow. Point taken about name calling, sorry, but lets face it, people don't know the circumstances within someone elses office, and therefore should withhold judgement on whether the duties are easy or not. Very few people in our office finish early on a regular basis. Usually once or twice a week at most, but mostly to time so they can hard be easy duties as was posted previously. We were advised by our rep to do the job to the book. As yet, I think there has only been one day where someone has not done the lapsing. The problem around doing/ not doing lapsing also centres around the strenght of the union rep. In our office the jury is still very much out on that one. Our office is now at stage 3 so we are currently playing it straight with the management to see who breaks first.

and got abused by a couple of junkies wanting their giro by 12.30 to cash it as PO. Changed route so they have to wait till monday

Nice day today. Covered someones day off, said I could do as many door 2 doors as I wanted, so I did all 700. 1 x 4p, 1 x 1.67p which comes to £42!!

Really heavy again today (thank God for falling mail volumes) so I had to cut off just over an hour of deliveries, manager had gone home before I got back so I suppose I'm going to have one of those meetings in the morning

I'm 30+ and my body is really struggling to make it through the day, I'm now on handfuls of painkillers just to make it through the day but strangely when I'm off I don't need them if they keep making us walk for longer and longer then I can see an awful lot of crippled in the future suing RM for the damage caused.
