strikes /rest days
it seem to me that when we have the strikes in london in my office and i should imagine in other offices in a 4 day week there is unfair balance as one group have had it only fallen once on its rest day i dont know how it is with the 5 day maybe as there the majority its worked out that way and there try to be fair that way. i mentioned to my fellow workers at the begining that we should have gone out indefinitely then i reckon atfer about 4 days royal mail would have been flapping especially our dim :cfo

Re: strikes /rest days
I've heard of small delivery offices where the posties have all changed their day off to the strike day !
- just as underhand as entering a delivery office by the back door to avoid crossing the picket line.

Re: strikes /rest days
Tmac setting a strike day is a nightmare as we have so many different duties ranging from 3 day duties , 4 day duties , 5 day duties with rotating days off , 5 day duties fixed and wallingtons ( 1 week off in 6 ).
It is possible to calcluate it so every one loses the same amount of money. Instead its about making sure that we strike on the days which is efffective and we strike when others in the country are.
Friday nights or saturdays in mail centres is a problem as our weekend duties lose half a weeks wages for one days strike action.
We do try and be fair but its is impossbile to effect everyone in the same way.
