£1560 a year to show the casuals what to do at christmas ........ cost effective :d'oh! :d'oh! :d'oh!
No, they only get the money while they're supervising them. So if they're supervising for 6 weeks for example: It'd cost £180 per year. Plus they get no training at all. They just have to be experiences Posties.

So, let me see if I've got this correct, they pay someone to do something that we used to do free :hmmmm I've always helped the newer staff (at least as much as time permitted) but I suppose the bosses don't really want me helping the newbies out

No. They'd be expected to Supervise the Agency Staff, INSTEAD of their normal Duty. And get £30 per week extra, for the extra responsibility. That's why I thought that the whole thing was so insulting to the Agency Staff. Why should we have proper Managers, and the Agency just have an experienced Postie instead?
If proper Managers weren't neccessary for a group of Agency Staff. Then why should experienced Posties, need one, rather than just be left alone to get the job done? :hmmmm
After all. We're the ones with years of experience of being Posties. Agency Staff don't have as much experience. So they're more likley to need someone to tell them what needs doing, and when. :hmmmm

No, the work place coach is completely different to a supervisory OPG. The coach helps train new entrants, while the supervisory OPG is the same as the old PHG's. In my office they had a S/OPG on nights rather than have a manager, they can ask you to do any job you are trained to do, but they cannot do back to work talk, discipline. If i remember back to 2007 there was talk of "team leaders" that's what they are, and yes they get £30 for doing it.

well not in that one man band outfit anyway.
but could i borrow it to tell my line managers about this new supervisors role :chuckle in the brave new world the line manager will be obsolete. Remember it's important that we modernise :chuckle

would you listen to them if they were ordering you about.....no, that will be why they are being imposed on agency staff then.

Money given every week biggest waste of money ever, would be more cost effective to pay whoever is training on walk, cos RM doms don't release them to train anyway!!

It's £30 a week at my office and they do bugger all! We've not had any new entrants for months and even when we did, these 'coaches' seemed to do a bit of very basic training which I could've told newbies for free. They spend a week with new entrants on their own walk, in other words, they get £30 a week plus someone to do half their walk and finish very early!

I'm gutted I didn't put in for it!!! :d'oh!
