LISTEN UP ALL POSTIES PRINT THIS AND TELL YOUR COLLEGUES

Post by pizz_flap »

With the strike ballot looming can I make a plea to all post persons to THINK ABOUT THIS before you vote.

Have you had LARGE cuts at your office this year? Has your job become harder for NO REWARD. Well next year RM will want more and the year after that, MORE and the year after that, MORE. IF WE LET THEM

Are you now lapsing rounds to cover buy downs, annual leaves and sicks FOR NO REWARD? Next year they will want you to give more FREE WORK. And the year after that MORE FREE WORK and the year after that MORE FREE WORK etc, etc, etc. IF WE LET THEM

Are you glad you did not get a pay rise this year? You probably will not get one next year even though RM made profit, managers got a fat bonus and the two at the top earn millions for lifting a biro, whilst you play at being a third world country MULE every day. What if you don’t get a PAY RISE next year? How you gonna pay the bills? Will you phone the utilities and say “have you any spare fuel as I can’t afford it” What do you think they will say to you?

Do you use your own car to deliver the post? WHY? are you rich, do you like subsidising RM? Carry on and next year you will be using it more and more, at a COST TO YOU not them. FACT

Have you every suffered with WORK PLACE STRESS? I have, BIG TIME and it is like a Russian Vine. Creeps up on you till you explode. Turns you into a different person. Affects your attitude to all around you, including family. The job is always on your mind. For some it’s too much and they take the easy way out. I came close BUT I survived it. IS THIS WHAT YOU WANT? Don’t say “IT WONT HAPPEN TO ME” I said that for years.

I have had senior managers roles in recent years (NOT RM. YUCK) and predicted all this s**t coming 5 years ago. My colleagues said “No it won’t happen here cos the union/we won’t let it” ITS HERE NOW. Guess what? Its gonna get much worse. MONTHLY PAY is a coming? NON DEDICATED ROUNDS are a coming. You wait and see. IF WE LET IT

So the moral of the story:

DO YOU WANT MORE OF THIS CRAP FROM A GREAT HEIGHT? YES PLEASE? Then Vote NO to a National strike and YOU ferkin live with that and a lot of us MIGHT even see YOU at the clinic! FACT

Still not convinced? Read this slowly:

Royal Mail said today that for the first time in almost 20 years all four of its businesses were in profit. :Very Happy
The publicly owned group, at the centre of controversial proposals to sell a minority stake to an outside investor, said that it had made a profit of £255m in the first nine months of the year, more than £90m ahead of the total for the whole of last year.
Full-year profits are expected to be double the £162m recorded in 2007/08, the company said in an interim trading statement this afternoon.
The chairman, Allan Leighton, :lfo said: "The company and its people have come a long way in just six years when Royal Mail was losing more than £1m a day and routinely failing quality-of-service targets."

YES WE DID IT. US, YOU AND ME, AND AS A THANK YOU WHAT DO WE GET

SO ASK YOURSELF THE QUESTION BEFORE YOU VOTE NO "DO I WANT TO KEEP SUBSIDISING RM AND ALSO DO I WANT TO DO LOTS MORE FREE WORK SO I FINISH IN MY TIME AND NOT RM'S?" no? THEN VOTE yes TO A NATIONAL STRIKE. LOOSE A FEW BOB NOW COS YOU WILL LOOSE MUCH MORE LONG TERM AND MAYBE EVEN YOUR HEALTH TOO. FACT PASS IT ON

I agree with some of that but today I started on time, took my 20 minute break before I went out, did the lapse, used a taxi to get to my walk at RM's expense....and still finished over an hour early.

In fact, I'm still getting paid now! :dance

So it's not all doom and gloom!!!

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Haha Postman - if it wasn't for the christmas catalogues I have been delivering since June, I think my mail volumes might have fallen :)

Listne Guys, with respect, some of you sound like those at my place, but "Just you wait". You aint seen nothing yet. Just look at this forum to see the doom and gloom around the country mainly form the management. Vote yes or regret it. Once its here it stays here.

OT is going/gone
No FT jobs anymore
GPS in vans
HCT's to fill you up with more work and not enough time to do it.
When someone leaves we all do it for free. Some said all this aint coming, but its here all you stubborn posties. Start LISTNING and vote YES

Finishing in your time is going cos peer pressure will ensure you feel guilty whislt the weak amongst us do it without moaning. Once "One to one's" (Yearly/quarterly/Monthly?Appraisals) come in with your manager and you, have your excuses readyy it wont make any difference. What they say will go or you will.

Managers philosphy is to work you out. If you dont like it you will leave in frustration.

Do any of you pay to use your car to benefit RM? Come on tell me WHY WHY WHY?????? :arrrghhh :arrrghhh :arrrghhh :arrrghhh

Vote yes

Did I say YES?

Vote YES

Point Made Mate . Do you think there's many posties out there that are going to vote NO? I think most will vote YES simply because they're getting messed about BIG TIME by RM! That's without giving too much thought to the Long Term Business Strategy of RM

Cheers :wave

if you were running a company and potentially had to make 30,000 redundant (guestimate)what would you do ?pay them redundancy or try every trick in the book to get them leave on their own accord.(some will obviously need managerial help)a penny saved is more pounds for the bonus.

But surely that is nothing to do with the strike ballot? It's postmen who choose to use their own cars, basically through selfishness. If cars on delivery is a strike issue then a lot of people are striking against themselves.

Nobody is forced to use their own car, if you don't RM will get you to your delivery one way or another.

Kwikpost has it right, when you START DOING THE JOB PROPERLY your life becomes so much easier.

It worries me that we'll strike and that still wont happen, so what's the point?

The harsh truth is that a lot of fellow postmen are just as much to blame for all our problems as your local DOM, lino, Mandy or Crozier is!
