SIR — I am currently organising a reunion for ex postmen and women who have worked from Chesterfield Delivery Office.
The event is to be held at Chester Street Club and is a ticket only event. These are available from the callers office on West Bars, Chesterfield.

I have been able to contact quite a large number, but would be grateful if you could print this letter. We are aiming to appeal mainly to those who worked at the office during the 1980s but are not discounting anyone more recent.

We would also be grateful if anyone could lend us some photographers of their time at the sorting office. We will, of course, return them.

Eh? So a Manager organising a party for the staff? Could be they are so desperate for workers they are trying to get back old hands?

My thoughts exactly but can you imagine how they'd react to the current workload/management practices

Aye---they'd run a mile. There have been so many come and go in our office, if they had a reunion party, they'd need to hire the albert Hall!

There are rumours that the managers are going to install revolving doors

in all offices that have a responsibility for hiring staff.

Turnover is the highest I have seen it in my office - and the mails down

It's not just the high turnover,I've been trying to remember the shortest time a new start has stayed, and i can remember one soul who departed after a couple of hours---just his luck he started on a day when we had piles of cataloguesetc. and there have been plenty more who have skipped after one shift.
