New contracts 'to help Stockport firm to growth'

A company based in Stockport has said that it hopes to increase its turnover in the coming years through new contracts.

Romec, which makes a variety of items including post boxes and National Lottery machines, told the Manchester Evening News that turnover should go from £200 million to £350 million by 2013.

Its clients include Marks & Spencer, Morrisons, Camelot and Madame Tussauds, a profile which helped the company make £187 million last year.

Director Mark Walmsley said Romec is actively seeking new business in a bid to continue to strive for growth.

He added: "We are firmly rooted in Stockport and it couldn't be a better place to operate a nationwide business from because of its central location."

Romec was created in 1989 to provide engineering services to the Royal Mail Group. It has now grown to employ 4,200 staff all over Britain from its base in the northwest.
