Thanks dgp. Do you know what happened to the new uniforms that were out about a year ago i.e red fleece and combat trousers.

Too expensive plus it would take too much effort to put them into general issue.

My dom picked me up on not having their shoes on. He said if I got an exemption cert that I could get up to £30 towards a pair of shoes as long as they were of the same spec. Does anybody know if I bought a decent pair of walking shoes if I would still get the money.

My quack wanted £15 for a cert

All private doctors letters cost that but lets face it, how much do you value your foot/ankle/knee/hips because bad footware can affect them (not to mention your back).

M in our office it is only 25 quid we gwt, and usually, you have to ask several times before you get it!

True, mind you he also told me to loose weight and he's fatter than me. I also went for a "well man" test last year and Nurse said what do you do for a livin. I told her. She weighed me, did my height, blood press and all that. At the finnish she said ......wait for it......You need more excercise, when you get in from work why dont you go for a walk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! True.

After I got up off the floor I said "did you hear what I did for a living?" She said yes "You can never have enough excercise" She should become a DIM with that mouth. :mfo

I just walked away and left her................lying there!

LMAO, everytime I go to the doctors I always get the same thing, lose weight and get more exercise and they seem really surprised when I tell them that I walk for more than 6 hours everyday (at a good pace) and the last time I wore my pedometer it measured about 13 miles still, I suppose they all think that we are like them, sitting on our arses for 8 hours.

Just think about how much fatter we would be if we didn't get all that exercise everyday we'd end up like some managers who get out of breath just standing up

I had an accident in these shite shoes 20 months ago, 91 days off sick, opreation on elbow to wire it back together, 2 days in hospital, months of physio. slipped on a dry tiled floor after going inside from damp conditions. refused to wear them so dom gave me £25 to get some shoes similar to docs.

I have a real problem with the magnum footwear, they only do unisex which means a mans fitting, they don't support my foot and cannot wear them. We had a health and safety rep at our office a couple of weeks ago and asked him about them. He suggest a docs note but like many of you have mentioned you have to pay for one. I also e-mail bob taylor the uniform manager and hes not shifting on the unisex side of it, in other words they won't pay for a ladies fitting anymore cos there are not enough of us. They are trailing dm and cat boots but know doubt still no ladies fitting. Its all to do with money but they can find enough to give themselves great bonus.

I am a geeza and just ordered some umifom that was the same size i always had. I need a shoe horn to fit in them. I have heard of Embassey trousers but cant get them.

We have a preggers gal at ours and she got trousers that the queen could have a garden party in! (Invites coming soon folks)

I had an accident in these crap shoes last year, operation, 6 months off sick, physio, still not 100% fit. Haven't decided whether to put a claim in yet or not. but I suppose the more people that do claim will show how bad the footwear was.
