Hi, I'm a postman and last year I slipped and suffered damaged knee ligaments. I am in no doubt that the "non slip" shoes we are provided was the cause for this slip and I'm sure many of you are aware of the problems these shoes cause. I am currently persuing an accident injury claim and I would appriciate it if anyone who has had problems with slipping because of the shoes would reply to this thread as the more people that I can get to testify that the shoes are (or should I say were, before they were changed) unsafe for the job. My solicitor was given a copy of the "test" results that were carried out to see if the shoes were safe and it was said there was a low risk in wearing the shoes. I'm sure you will agree with me that the magnum shoes are far from low risk. So if anyone has had a problem with the shoes and how slippery they are then please reply.Many thanks.

You're talking about the Magnum ice skates, I think everyone on here have slipped whilst wearing them.

I had the Magnums until the sole came off, after a month and a half, and will now not wear them.
I wear army issue boots as these have fantastic grip and when pulled up by the manager he told me that at least if i slipped and broke my leg in the Magnums i would be insured ,i told him that i did not want break my leg in the first place.
The Magnums are poor quality tat and are most certainly not up to the job by a mile, they are as much use as a pair of flip flops.

I've found a pair of DM shoes looks like I won't have to worry about falling on my arse for a while

horris_1uk, what ground type did you slip on because HSE tests did show magnum shoes RMZ3 and boots RMZ4 as high risk on metal florring i.e drains, metal staircases.

Wet ground, concrete floors, tiled floors infact all surfaces.

I slipped last year and damaged my shoulder while out on delivery wearing the magnum boots. I have since had an operation and will need weeks of physio to get the strength and movement back in my right arm. How is your claim progressing? was thinking along them lines myself

I have slipped whilst wearing the magnums - even the so called 'new' design after wearing them for 3 - 4 wks they become lethal and they last no longer than a pair of flip flops in my opinion. Think I'm going to get a pair of Doc Martins!

I had these crap shoes and they were lethal on marbal steps and any other gloss surfaces. Totally hopeless in snow ice and rain. Ther was also a warning letter out out by RM for these if I remember rightly about breaking them in. I will see if we still have a copy on our board.

Lasted about 3 weeks before sole came off.

My dom picked me up on not having their shoes on. He said if I got an exemption cert that I could get up to £30 towards a pair of shoes as long as they were of the same spec. Does anybody know if I bought a decent pair of walking shoes if I would still get the money.

My quack wanted £15 for a cert
