The postie gets additional workload to do, he has to sort, prep, and deliver the extra put upon him, and gets feck all by way of a bonus because there's a recession on, we have to tighten our belts, blah, blah, blah.

I agree with the sentiment but, lapsing has been agreed by the CWU as part of pay & mod.

It's not the lapsing that I have a problem with but the fact that they want you do do extra beyond your time and not pay you any extra for it. I work 8 hours a day and TBH I'm finding it difficult to do my duty in that time (ever since our Pegasus revision) so I can't see me being able to even do my own duty whenever mail picks up let alone any lapsing.

We've 13 vacant duties that have had no duty holder for over a year, up to 8 people have lost their duties recently and the walks have been turned into part time, 5 people have been loaned to other offices. The other week we had 27 uncovered duties  They are relying on the docket grabbers everyday and the docket grabbers are doing it :arrrghhh After our recent ballot which was Yes there is talk of an overtime ban but the docket grabbers are spitting their dummies out over it :speak to the hand :speak to the hand
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets

Are the docket grabbers doing the o/t work after their duty times?, coz if they're not, try explaining to them that what is docket at the mo will become duty if Dom's and Line Managers see them coming back before their duty times to do it.

We are supposed to absorb 6 walks (this includes our firm's drivers but not our runarounds) and I think some people are beginning to get the idea of working properly but you still get the ones who think they'll still make some time out of it. :arrrghhh My deputy and I have been banging on for years about the threat of doing extra and that the only way to avoid it is to do the job properly, but there is still an element of "It'll never happen"! but my conscience and my deputy's are clear :cuppa

Tried to get us to agree with this bollox at our place, the dom and lino will go out with the part of the lapsed walk left, which would be the 3rd coach lot of work, and the missorts.

We said bollox you lieing twonk, you'll just hide it till the next day.

Do they really think we're stooopid.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

We have lapsed 2 walks for summer savings, however twice last week we had 2 postmen sharing a walk because all the walks were covered and we had a man over

Lucky they were not loaned to another office.

We had an occasion a few weeks ago where we loaned a postie to one of our satellite DOs only for one of our Intra Offices to send a postie to cover that one. Who says savings have to make sense.
