Progressing within RM?

I want a career, not a s**t job like the one I have now. I asked my manager what training I could get from RM to help me progress. He told me he would get a lesser, brainless, manager to talk to me. This never happened. I approached said lesser moron and asked him and was told I could only get training if it was beneficial to the depot. So, I emailed Adam and got the reply that all jobs are advertised on the local intranet and that RM is a none discriminating employer or whatever it's called. What that has to do with getting some training and what not is beyond me. So, I ask you: how the hell do I progress and get some training from RM to enable me to do something better than drive a knackered van around all day? BTW I don't want to be a manager.

If your still young get yourself to uni or college, i've just returned (big mistake) after completing 2nd accounting at uni. Seriously, the job is ******. Anyone young enough should get out before its too late.

Depends what you wanna do OP. If you want to cross over to the dark side then you can put yourself up for an Acting pos. May get a posting at another office too. But this would be operations...not sure what else you can start with to be honest.

What about the graduate programme? You may be able to get a placement in of the 3 available business units.

Ask your manager to send you on the RM first aid course, at least it is a start.

You should be entitled to a partial grant towards any fees if you do go back to college or uni (I have and got all fees paid), there are no career prospects in RM anymore unless you speak dutch maybe?!
