The thing is a manager will come up with an idea, this idea mybe inefficient and ineffective, however, the managers around them do not have the courage to tell senior managers that the plan is not working they carry-on until things go really wrong. RM did not use to be like this if something did not work changes would be made, but I do not know what is going on these days.

Glad the Forces Training Ethos added a point for discussion. Agree that it's probably not a good template for running a Mail Service. Who could you trust to be in charge of the Heavy Artillery? :Very Happy

Our Managers show a consistant lack of People Skills, most problems are made worse by their lack of basic manners not their long term planning. The point I was trying to make was I believe it would benefit the Business, as a whole, if these guys had been out in the cold & rain trying to deliver Full bags of mail (not just the 1st class they sometimes have to take out). If they have ever done it they've obviously got a short memory!

A colleague raised an interesting point the other day, he said the DOM sees two parts of the job. The Inside part and the Delivery part. He's not interested in the Delivery part hence the ammount of effort he puts into trying to cut the hours on the Delivery side and keeps messing about with the Sorting times etc. :arrrghhh

Cheers :wave
