If it ever goes to stage 3 thats when I could appeal, but that is also the part where risk being sacked as well, its wrong
the appeals process should be from the start.
I fully agree. But in my opinion, RM probably got so hacked-off with the tiny minority of people who take several false sickies a year, such as the original poster of this thread, that they withdrew the right of appeal at Stages 1 & 2 so as to more easily catch those people out. The downside for the people who are genuinely ill or who have a Stage issued wrongly (like yours clearly was) is they can also end up getting sacked and then having to go through financial problems, stress etc before proving they were unjustly dealt with and winning their job back on a long drawn-out appeals process.

To answer Shadow's question, the guy got all his backpay, but no compensation, at least as far as I am aware.

I hold the piss-takers of the past directly responsible for RM's current draconian policy :evil/mad

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

A Pilonidal (Abscess, Cyst, Sinus, Dimple) is an abscess in the natal cleft (more commonly referred to as your butt crack) that tends to become infected and cause intense pain and drainage. Sometimes a Pilonidal contains hair and sometimes they don't.

And re the avatar - Jordan I presume!

NumptyBumpty wrote:Silly boy, it would be very easy to wish you ill health in the hope that you get "found out". Instead of that though your bragging of ill gotten gains may be your downfall. In your past posts you've stated that you're a postie in Nottingham and:
sickness help - 29th April 2009
my first day of sickness was monday just gone,im not intending to return till tuesday(bank holiday monday)if i ring up the manager on saturday saying im fit for work now! but obvisouly its sunday the followed by bank holiday monday, how many days will that count as being of sick?
I'm afraid it would be very easy to track you down following your posts (I know I could do it). Let's hope anyone who might be interested in such things isn't reading (which they probably are).
You obviously seem to think you have some IT or private detective talents (Or both)

Why are you sticking letters through letter boxes for a living?

Perhaps you are a geek with no friends who sits in his bedroom all night?
I'm not sure what you are trying to say about people "sticking letters through letter boxes for a living". I have a bit more respect for the people who do the real work in RM. I am not a postie I work in HR and it would only require a few simple queries of the HR system to identify the OP. I'm not that bothered to do such a thing but there are plenty of people with the knowledge and inclination who might be reading this site.

The OP has stated in previous posts that he has worked here for about 10 years, is based in Nottingham and started a period of sickness on 27th of April which lasted approx a week. That's probably enough to find him or narrow it down to 2 or 3 people at most. Given his claims (if true) it would probably be easy to determine who he is.

I'd advise everyone to be careful with how much information they reveal on here if they are going to make silly claims like that.
If you had read carefully what I had written, I was referring to you in person, sticking letters through letter boxes for a living, i.e. being a postman, given your obvious "other" talents for more mentally demanding tasks. At no point would I ever wish to denigrate the hard work, local knowledge and stamina a postman has to have and also on top of that, the daily bullying and harassment a postman goes through on a daily basis from management. I couldn't have known it if I hadn't been through it.

You say you "Work" in HR. Work and HR are two words I never usually use in the same sentence. HR must be the biggest growth industry in the UK over the last decade or so and yet it is really a non-productive loss making exercise. RM HR obviously doesn’t bother with bullying and harassment forms from OPGs and does not deal with the complexities of employment law as regards OPGs on part time contracts. So, please tell me what they do apart from knock out a few payslips and uniform.

Now to my main point, "Hercules Poirot", your detective work and your conclusions that you have come to, you envisage that it is quite simple to track down a rogue poster on this site based on assumptions of time in the job, location and actual dates of sickness are genuine. Assumption is the mother of al fcuk ups. With such degrees of assumption, I think we should add potential DOM to the list as another of your latent talents. I will agree with you on one thing though, don't tell anybody you are pulling a fast one with regards sickness or any other fiddles.

As an aside, whilst you and your chums in HR (If you really are in HR) are getting bored in-between diversity courses. Try and suss out the name of my ex-dom through your data bases. There should be enough clues on this site and your PC at work. Off sick, July August 08, broken wrist, fell from loft door, allegedly after drinking quite a bit.

A bit uncalled for that. I work hard in my job and would like to think I do a good job. Whether or not the policies that we work with are to yours (or my) liking is a bit out of my control, I'm just a button pushing monkey. I have a lot of respect for our colleagues on the frontline and I know that most people in HR do also. I can only presume that you have some kind of chip on your shoulder with HR Services. Put simply, if we didn't do our job you wouldn't get paid. HR is quite big area with over 1000 people working in it, our office mainly deals with pay so I'm sure you'll forgive me for not knowing about B&H procedures.

With regards to growth, we certainly aren't costing the business more money, we are seeing cut-backs like everyone else. I can't remember the exact figure but we are looking at about 10% reduction in headcount this year, you will be pleased to hear that. In fact our headcount has pretty much halved in recent times.

I couldn't care less if the OP is genuine or not, I'm just pointing out that if it is genuine then it can be done, although I suppose you have vastly more experience in our HR system than I do.

Whitemoor66 stop making it so personal and why slag of another workers job.

You are guilty of exactly what Alan Leighton and Adam Crozier were in 2007 - believing in or promoting a typecast that simply does not exist. 99% of all workers in whatever field they are employed in work hard so don't fall into the trap of thinking they dont.

Also why are you commenting so personally on what after all was an attempt at warning people about what they post. As he says just by looking at the OPs post, if all the personal details, or even just some of them are true, it does make it easier to track them down with the resources available to IB and Management. Take the post in the way NumptyBumpty meant it - a friendly warning.

Caffeine is highly addictive. Quitting coffee can cause withdrawal symptoms such as headaches, sleepiness and irritability. The acidic nature of coffee can lead to stomach ulcers.

Explains a few things don't it.
