ABSORPTION

Post by rat »

ABSORPTION! HOWS YOUR OFFICE COPING WITH THIS. WE HAVE TEN POSTMEN GOING OUT EACH MORNING AND DELIVERING ONE WALK. THIS IS CAUSING US TO COME BACK TO THE OFFICE LATE AND GO OUT LATE AND HAVING TO CUT OFF AS THERE IS NOT ENOUGH TIME TO DELIVER. ANOTHER GREAT IDEA BY SHINY PANTS BRIGADE.

It is good that you cut off as some will work without pay!. Question is everyone in your office doing the job properly if so you only need unity in your office and and good planing and too keep polding on!. Don't give them your time your time is precious!.

We've been doing abortption for 2 weeks now, same as you 10 postmen doing one walk. We leave our office around 9am and return between 40 and 50 mins later. no cut off's as of yet though.

IPS lasted 1 hour today leaving 6 hours and 50 mins after meal break to prep deliver and travel out/back, is it any wonder there is time spare?

Daz,getting your vibes, but it's not as you're no doubt aware like that eveywhere.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

when you've got a 4 and a half hour delivery, which the dom insists is 3 and a half but funnily enough can never find the time or persons to walk test it, then you don't get any time spare

When you have a 6 hour delivery it doesn't leave a lot of time to do anything else

yesterday i was throwing off a walk that was being absorbed, and diddnt start throwing off my own until 9:15am - which is the time missorts are up. all 8 of those that absorbed the walk brought at least 30-40% of their work back by cutting off aswell

Oh dont you worry about that, this site makes me well aware of what could very well be just around the corner!!!!!

One of the other problems weve got at the moment is longs and shorts, we dont need any more flipping time on wednesday thursday or friday. The old times would have been perfectley adequate.

Before SDD and the 5 day week we had rurals that were 5 to 11.40am 6 daysa week on the move to a 5 day week we kept the deliveries the same on the smaller rurals and just added IPS. Due to less IPS mail not nesscarily less overall mail we could absorb a Rural del permantley take the IPS element off the smaller rural duties and absorb a rural del. The smaller rural dels would then be up to the size of the bigger rural dels. This means then longer on the IPS for the urban dels who would then be asorbing indoor work rather than outdoor work. As RML cant agree a sensible scheme for sharing in savings its a non starter.
