A Royal Mail van burst into flames in Bristol yesterday.

The incident happened at about 9.30am in Portland Square, St Paul's.

Adam Laity, 32, who works as front of house manager at Circomedia in St Paul's Church, managed to catch the moment on camera as he walked past.

He said: "I don't know how it happened, the van was on the corner in flames and the fire brigade had just arrived. I don't think anyone was hurt but it looked quite dramatic."

Louise Hart, spokeswoman for Avon Fire and Rescue, said crews used a high pressure hose reel to extinguish the fire. She said: "The cause was recorded as accidental ignition."

Where the van checks done :hmmmm

I know when I do mine I'm made to be a joke with people calling out things and having a laugh but if something goes wrong because they haven't checked then they'll be the ones in the crap.

According to the vid story on it:

A Royal Mail driver and passenger had a lucky escape when they smelled smoke and jumped out of their van in Portland Square, Bristol, just before an explosion in the back.

Who was the passenger another postie?
