Dear Colleague
NATIONAL INDUSTRIAL ACTION BALLOT
Despite the explicit commitments Royal Mail made in 2007– that it was not the end of the negotiating process on modernisation and that they would introduce future change by agreement – it is clear that Royal Mail has no genuine desire to reach acceptable agreements with the Union. Instead, the company continues to impose change by diktat, intimidation and bullying.
Therefore, in pursuance of Annual Conference Policies and the urgent need to achieve National Agreements to cover all aspects of Major Change, the Postal Executive has had no alternative other than to set a timetable for a National Industrial Action Ballot.
The timetable for the Ballot is as follows:-
• Notice Served to the employer on the 2nd September 2009
• Ballot Papers dispatched on the 9th September 2009
• Ballot closes on the 23rd September 2009
Communications to members are being prepared and over the next few weeks the Union will be setting out, in detail, all the reasons why we must achieve a YES vote. In the meantime, Branches should step up their local campaigns and plan membership meetings as appropriate.
Yours sincerely
Dave Ward Billy Hayes Ray Ellis
Deputy General Secretary (P) General Secretary Asst Secretary
Martin Collins Bob Gibson Terry Pullinger
Asst Secretary Asst Secretary asst Secretary

Lets hope that this time the clowns above get it right, get the fight right and get the membership up to date so no legal stunts can be pulled to stop it.

Re: NATIONAL BALLOT TIMETABLE
Royal Mail will challange every ballot in the hope that something might come out of it, it's that desperation that will drive more and more people out onto the streets, so really RM will do a better job of motivating us than the union ever could.

Re: NATIONAL BALLOT TIMETABLE
We need the ballots to be speeded up - and for offices not to handle
the work being diverted from offices taking Industrial Action.
OK I know they can't do that under the Anti-Union Laws, but if people
didn't put down for OT, then surely those offices couldn't handle the
diversions.

A war cannot be won in weeks nor months Nye years this is a war which will never be won as such in time but through adversity and fortitude hope justice and unity!. One cannot gauge the out come even of our big small battle in time but time goes on and our battles must be fought we may not win the but by god we must not lose it!. I hear some on hear not think the fight is worth it tell that too harry patch he will turn in his grave it is time some of these mouthy teenagers and some who are considerably older dug in and fight the fight that must be fought!.
