At the peak a few months ago we'd 4 managers for just 45 staff and that's not including the extra managers sent in to help out (at least one of them has been suspended over irregularities in test letters :nervous ).
This cannot be coincidental. RM creates these managers - we get plenty shunted in from here there and charlie, who know it all despite never having worked in our office before. All with vacant expressions and exactly the same appaling attitude towards us - all spewing the same mantra of 'it can be done we will prep test you we will conduct you mail is down' fresh out of the RM clone factory.

They wouldn't last a second outside RM unless there are some vaccancies in North Korea or a brainwashed religious cult.

The more I see the more I think of the last days of the Third Reich, ever increasing outrageous demands made of the men/staff with no dissention under fear of death/dismissal and an increasing reliance on sycophant leaders/managers.

Here's one,my manager timed me out on duty,by counting how long it took me to do 20 steps? He said i done a couple of houses. So went to claim ot when i got back in,he went mental, sat me down and showed me his computer with all his wonderful facts :angel ,said he took my time from my 20 steps to 2 houses and did it for the rest of my duty, said i was too slow.Is this right and can he use this against me?Not just me on his computer, must be 10 more slow coaches

Get your rep involved this is a classic case for B&H. He is using no agreed or even unagreed method of measurement. This eejit will cost the business thousands if this kind of practice goes to an Employment Tribrunal. I would also say contact the CWU harasment people for guidance on whether to put in a B&H case or a grievance. Good luck dealing with this clown

Hi all new to this and to RM but can anyone tell me how RM managers are selected and if there are courses they have to do to obtain management status
or are they all ex postpersons who have graduated through the job bye graduating I mean having the experience and understanding of years in the postal industry and having beat the streets for a few years and have an understanding of how the system works and the restraints that some of the changes being enforced in the industry effect the foot soldiers on the ground.
I agree not all managers are bad but surley the system should promote within and make sure the right calibre of people selected have obtained the correct atributes for the position they hold ie a course in man management.
Please enlighted me to the situation so i to can understand many thanks :nana :nana :nana

1:Go to your manager, tell him you want to go onto the acting list.
2:You are then vetted for people skills and go on many courses so you know the business inside out,you are then sent away to HQ on an intense training course, then you are vetted again, then there is a 2 day test, then you have an interview, then if you pass that, another test, then another interview, then one more test.
3:You are then sent to an office where you will be carefuly watched and assesed, then another interview after the assesment, then another test, one more after that, then you're in!
