sick leave

Hi I was just wondering if anyone here could help me.
I was off last week on annual leave, but went to the doctors as I was unwell and he tested me for swine flu and gave me a sickline for a week and told me to avoid contact with people.
If my day off this week was Monday but my sickline ran until Thursday can management count Monday towards my sick-leave even though I was due off or do they just count Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

P.s. (Tests were negative before anyone asks.)

Why would you need a sick note for annual leave or have you phoned in work and said you are sick/ill if you have you should give 24 hours notice you intend to return to work and thus you could possibly not count your weekly rotation day off as sick!.

You should inform your manager to allow him time to get cover for you and your sick days should start from tuesday. However, your manager will probably phone you monday as a responsible employer and to put pressure on you to return tuesday. You have been given a sick line for a possible swine flu which came back as negative so I would assume RM will discount your sick line about avoiding people and therefore hope that you are feeling sufficiently well to return on Tuesday.
Just make sure that you are 100% ok before returning because if you return and then have to go off with the same thing later in the week it will be counted as 2 absences.
