Silly boy, it would be very easy to wish you ill health in the hope that you get "found out". Instead of that though your bragging of ill gotten gains may be your downfall. In your past posts you've stated that you're a postie in Nottingham and:
sickness help - 29th April 2009
my first day of sickness was monday just gone,im not intending to return till tuesday(bank holiday monday)if i ring up the manager on saturday saying im fit for work now! but obvisouly its sunday the followed by bank holiday monday, how many days will that count as being of sick?
I'm afraid it would be very easy to track you down following your posts (I know I could do it). Let's hope anyone who might be interested in such things isn't reading (which they probably are).

Phone in and say your sick. When asked what the reason is, tell your dim that you are in bed having sex with your sister. Dim guarenteed to agree that you are sick.

Darf Postie is that you in the video? Very Amusing :Very Happy

Tried "Groin Strain"? I don't recommend it as a practised "Lead-swinger" but I DO suffer from it on a regular basis (no jokes please  ) Normaly get it from jumping in and out of vans, twisting and stretching at the same time. End up having to exit like the Queen! Knees together swing them out of the cab! Just to get a chance to recover and not get put on another warning!! :mad

Anyone out there suffering similiar problems? Find the tall lads get a lot of back problems from Rural Duties! Made worse by the "lower" type vans.

Cheers :wave

Like all wage slaves, he had two crosses to bear: The people he worked for and the people he worked with.

Come on you don't really think the big one was serious. Do ya. Besides you could always call in and say that it's RM that makes you sick. :left:

:Boo hoo!

Lazyitis ??

Bloke in our office thought he was smart, like you. Got a genuine bout of ill-health after milking 'the rules' for years, ended up getting a Stage 3 cos the genuine ones happened close together over a period of less than a year. When they looked at his TOTAL absence back-catalogue, they dismissed him at his RTU.

I still see him around town every now and then, invariably the worse for drink and looking like a tramp. Learn the lesson :arrrghhh

:Applause :Applause - because of these old soldiers / professional skivvers , and there's managers who play that game too ; but it's kept down - you'll get managers playing Dr Kildare with the RM questions requiring the right RM answers from don'tgiveATOS ( the " legitimacy " of absence management ) giving the genuine people a lot of grief & worry !.

People having " the extra weeks annual leave " is commonplace in Government agencies too , part of the culture .

I've not much sympathy for the drunks & druggies i.e. extenuating reasons for absence - " Mr Heineken & Mr Carling make me prop the bar up off duty " - the best one was a rep who made Jimmy Hoffa look straight being off with gout FFS , the cosy relationship got stopped , first they put him on a final warning then he had to jump before he was pushed .

My experience is PT staff that can't really afford to duck as they are heavily reliant on O/T - that's if they can get it :arrrghhh

Its people like you who attempt to play the system that get genuine people the sack, as RM have no option to treat all absences as genuine. I think the next major step, possibly as part of the rturn to work agreement will be to stop paying sick pay and the people like you will soon be screaming about loss of wages.

Frankly this post sickens me, yes I am a Manager and staff taking the piss just makes me angry.

I agree and most on here no doubt as well.

BUT,your lot take the piss with the stage warnings as well.

There are many many instances where the blue shirt is genuine, yet you still give it!
as RM have no option to treat all absences as genuine.
And that is bullshit!

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

When do you suggest that RM stop paying sick pay?

I don't know of any posties in my office who 'play the game' regarding using sick as a holiday, it may have happened in the past but I don't know.

the devil is in the detail i.e. tripping people up which on face value is fine , if you were off then someone saw you in the crowd on MOTD ; you'd get the sack anywhere but with RM it's all the innuendo & implication etc which is a combination of the old school RM - " they're all lazy , as little as possible for as much as possible - playground CWU v CMA stuff and all the pressure with the top down by dicktat , 70's command & control " new " approach - i.e. this one has a " good doctor " .

Things are not always handled well to put it mildly . It's " interesting " how much more " understanding " RM are if there's "PC issues", I'm sure it's got nothing to do with box ticking , outboxing other managers & internal politics .

Unfortunately there are a lot of people that are mediocre in everything bar their ambition in this country :hmmmm
