How Many Offices Are Going Through This.
Can any of you give me a clue How many offices are going through this
This morning the managers announced to staff that 8 full time duty's are being turned over to Part Time,no consultation with the CWU,no informing the duty holders up until this morning in WTLL,the staff who are loosing thier dutys quiet understandbly are very upset,it appears that most that have lost thier duty are people that are senior and some are older members, can anyone enlighten me or give us some clues on how to deal with this as our rep is on leave.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Yes, something similar happened in our office but with absorption instead of it going to part-timers. 5 walks. One guy who lost his duty has been here for 25 years! Now he's on the reserve list.

Go straight to your Area Delivery Rep and if possible contact your own rep, even if he is on leave he will need to know. They should be able to put in a disagreement. You may also get the opportunity to be balloted over this.bandit650 wrote:Can any of you give me a clue How many offices are going through this

I have heard of FT vacant positions being made available as PT only but not heard of filled duties being made PT without their being a repick or a realignment of duties. Sounds well dodgy certainly have heard of no National Agreement that even allows this.
Get moving - RM will be.

Ensure that you inform the DOM that you are taking the matter into dispute through the IR framework. The matter will then have to pass through the various stages of the IR framework which will mean that the status quo remains until the procedure is exhausted. In the absence of your Unit Rep I would get hold of your Area Rep and get him involved asap! As Postman says it is a clear attempt at by-passing the CWU in the decision-making process at your Office as laid out in the 2007 Pay & Mod Agreement.
It is important that the members stick together and show solidarity and strength in the face of such attacks on jobs, hours, terms and conditions.
Good luck!

Re: How Many Offices Are Going Through This.
We have lapsed and done holiday cover also have now just found out that all part time staff are being put down to the contracted hours they are employed on,thing is we do have a large rural section and as the managers have said they can not revise or test the dutys as it would cost to much so time and time again they have taken hours and dutys from the town section, this is the most gaulling bit the towns are going over time and failing because walks are so big but rural and firm deliverys are finishing up to 1/1.5 hrs early, they go home while we struggle, were the ones that get it in the neck, its the divide and conker, we are at a loss have got in touch with all suggested its now wait and see, thanks to all that have put up ideas i really would not wish for this to be put on staffs shoulders its a big weight to carry.

The union really must get it's act together. At the moment Royal Mail are benefiting from us having such a week union.bandit650 wrote:Can any of you give me a clue How many offices are going through this

Re: How Many Offices Are Going Through This.
Leighton and Brydon have both insited that no one will be forced to go from FT to PT.
So nothing of the sort should be happening in ANY office!

This has happened at my office, prime example is a guy who joined 44 years ago had his walk taken away and he's now a reserve.
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet

I'd be more inclined to trust someone in a stripey top, and a swag bag with my valuables. Than trust either of them!

Fair do's but if we can't use the propaganda they have been spouting for years against them then we might as well pack up and go home.andy2007 wrote:Surely you didn't trust them did you?POSTMAN wrote:Leighton and Brydon have both insited that no one will be forced to go from FT to PT.
