I think that many have alluded to what the problem is, the lack of communication by our leaders, I really do believe that this site has provided more information to posties up and down the country than the CWU has in my time in it :hmmmm

You are absolutely correct! It isn't just a National problem though dgp, at local level too it seems as though our branch is run like a "gentlemans club", no information no updates and absolutely no action. There has never, in my time here, been a local ballot for action on any issue when in truth there have been a number of occasions when there should have been.

Our managers must love a lot of the sentiments displayed on here. Yeah let's blame the union for everything - but mainly blame it for not getting a quick-fix to the problem of an aggresive and hostile management trying and currently succeeding in ignoring all local and national agreements in the pursuit of its own agenda. Attendance changes, scrapping 4 day weeks and executive action for a start. Let's tear ourselves apart with in-fighting whilst losing sight of who the enemy actually is. This is going to be one long, hard fight and I am afraid that a lot of people are going to inconvenience themselves if they want to salvage something from the wreckage of what is now RM.

We have brought a lot of this on ourselves over the years by "cutting up" the job and using our own cars to make a bit of time out of the job. Now RM want that time back and you need to realise that. A lot of you are really going to have a long, hard look at the way you work in the future - if there is one that is not the dictate of our beloved management. :d'oh! :evil/mad

that certainly is the game they are playing - i.e. the union is trying to save face from 2007 , they're using staff as canon fodder , they've lost credibility in the workplace - blah , blah , blah but they don't like the stuff that is coming from Dingo at all :hmmmm

I wish the mbrs in my D.O would realise that the rest of RML CWU grade staff dont have job and finish and get over thier obssesion with having job and finish.

In my D.O absorption is a threat to ooddles of job and finish and not workloads that cant be achived within duty hours.

My D.O needs the SWW more than ever before otherwise it's bigger deliveries, especially iof the pick uo in mail volumes is not awfully big at the end of summer lull.

This is the lightest summer lull for a very long time if not ever for my D.O.

I may bitch and moan about our leadership but I will always fight, I don't think anyone who has complained about the lack of leadership will just roll over and surrender.

If you add the London weighting which is +5K and a bit of overtime +1k you have 24k - course it's much dearer to live down there.

Machineman the strike friday goes ahead , as does the one next wednesday where we will have a demo at unite to complain about their members who are doing our work when we are out on strike. We hope to do a meeting at conway hall afterwards.

There is more comms coming out to London members and I know a letter to all CWU members will be dispatched shortly.

There is a national briefing next thursday. Plus this Thursday a press conference will be held where Dave and Billy will announce the timetable for the National Ballot.

I realise that you and the London members have lost 4 days thus far with a further two days over the next week and its tough but if we dont win this fight we are in you and the rest of the membership will lose so much more.

Please PM if you wish me to attend a meeting in your office as more than happy to do so.

Keep up the support !! We will win the National Ballot is coming and more ballots are coming on stream and From Friday this week until next wednesday over we have over 400 offices out on strike right across the UK including Peterboro , Bristol , London and Scotland. Plus the VOCs .

September becomes our time and when the work picks up Royal Mail`s flawed plans will be exposed and their resolve will weaken and then we will beat them.

the union just doesn't seem to be getting it's messege across to the rank and file. we'll be out again this week and next but some of the people in my office are wondering why other offices are working across the country. we all know why were striking dingo. what is starting to get people down is the fact that we seem to be fighting alone. one other thing dingo. why are the strike days falling on the same people's rest days again.
