it doesnt look good. erm, unite members strike breakers as a collective or the union? i can imagine you meant the union as a role, i've been supporting posties lol. dont have a go at me..even if i slated cwu for not looking after their members. thats the trouble with amalgamation, other factions mixing in with the original union

You're right there! Besides. What other Union could the Managers join?
We have a couple of alternatives, if we loose faith in the CWU. Although, they're not recognised by RM, which would make things far more difficult, when you needed them to intervene. But as far as I know. There are no alternatives available for the managers. They're just stuck with Unite!

just come off the phone.. one point unite mentioned to me was because they are running off their old membership system ie tgwu member list, and the newish amicus member list, and keeping the membership seperate, they asked me if the managment are actual members of amicus. and even if the names of the managers who have been sent up to scotland were known, due to membership confidentiality, it will be difficult to ascertain whether the manager is or not a member. the person who i spoke to mentioned has two brothers who are postal workers and i suggested to ask them cos they be more in a better position for knowledge and even confirm that managers from cardiff and elsewhere are being sent up to scotland. whether the the person who i spoke to at unite will speak to the brothers or not is another matter, but the message i was giving should have given unite a cause for concern. i pointed out the concerns and they said to ring back next week cos the unite reps are away at the welsh tuc conference.

the final process of unite doesn't come into effect until 2012. what is happening now basically means that tgwu are called tgwu section of unite, and amicus are called the amicus section of unite.

Didn't UNITE just announce it's cutting it's staff :hmmmm maybe people are looking out for their own jobs and not concentrating on what they should be doing to protect their members jobs/conditions.

bit of a tricky situation.. unite is the employer.. unite staff losing their postions...who's looking out for their workers? who represents the rep who represents?

bit like where does the doctor go when the doctor is unwell

had the tribunal hearing last friday afternoon. the appeal was granted in my favour, i didnt even feel like celebrating, then again it wasnt a case of winning or losing or gloating. it was a case of right and wrong.

after the weekend, i mulled things over cos all that has happened since christmas was further fuelled an already delicate situation and knocked back progress by 5 months which will never be able to claw back. so, which direction to go next? a careful strategy is going to be needed, and as soon as i started making making telephone calls, was coming up against barriers. citizens advice are limited in scope. government departments gave out incorrect information and i wouldn't trust them as far as i can throw them.

it's obvious there is something wrong in the hospital system cos i know that now for sure, being messed around left right and centre. soon as they diagnose a problem, they leg it, and leave you to it.

Won appeal last friday of may..after a couple of weeks,i started to wonder where is the paperwork and all that. Started making phone calls and getting stressed out. Then another phone call was made asking where is my payment etc..being sorted out i was told. Another week or so went by, still none the wiser. July arrives, rang the union. The rep asked me are you telling me you havent been paid? I said umm yeh.. He said leave it with me.. Mid july, still no news..rang on monday, rep gone on holiday. Rang today, a message for me from the rep. Best if you phone them to sort out your money and see whats going on. Win an appeal and that is not the end. Get messed around even more it seems.

That's ludicrous! It's bad enough that you had to go through an ET. But to hang onto your money for so long, is taking things too far! :evil/mad

Have you been told how much you're entitled to yet?
If you have. I'd suggest contacting a Debt Recovery Service, and get them to go after your money. If I remember rightly, that's what a lot of people did with the Banks, over their refunds, for unfair Bank Charges. :hmmmm
