Outcome of Gate Meeting at my D.O this morning

We had a gate meeting this morning, not a fantastic turnout but once you take into account day off and annual leave people it dosent seem so bad.

Anyway our Sub Area Del rep can down (despite being on Annual Leave) and explained the issues to the troops, listend to their concerns on mangement wishing to remove SA hours whilst claiming they have CWU aggrement which is incorrect.

The question was then asked if we wish to have a industrial action ballot and every single member put their hand up in favour of a IA ballot.

Lets hope it dosent get bogged down in adminstrative limbo at HQ!!!

See what I mean. They have already been waiting a month and still haven't got the ballot papers yet. and yet the union is calling out the 10% that have voted on strike now out now. How long is this troop of monkey's going to take to ballot the whole lot. .........CWU........ not fit for purpose.

There's 2 different issues there. As far as a National Ballot is concerned, you're damn right. We should have had one, right at the start. I know that it's a very high risk strategy. Because one mistake with the paperwork can stop the whole thing, and require fresh ballots. But surely that's better than small groups doing all the work for the rest of us.

The delay in getting Ballot Papers, is another issue entirely. The only logical explination I can come up with, for the huge delays. Is that there aren't enough people in place to process them. So why haven't HQ drafted in more people in to do it?
Surely in a Union this size, there must be some people who could be asked to help out. Even if it's just a couple of hours a day.

Then they should spend some of the money they take from us and bloody well spend it on getting people that are capable of doing the job right. This is our future these amateurs playing around with.

I've been saying the same thing myself. It's bad enough that mistakes are being made. But they're letting a small group of people take all the blame. Specifically, those who are actually responsible for processing the notifications, and requests for Ballots. They should have got more people in, right at the start. So this situation wouldn't have arrisen.

How on Earth do they expect ONE person to accurately process all that paperwork, in anything resembling a practical timescale!

The C.W.U have dropped the ball for the last time as far as I m concerned.

they could have used "the con" as propoganda for gaining public support and highlighting what a shower of c**ts RM truly are, but oh no.......they decide to ignore it.

The union chiefs are incompetent and they have proven it once before.
Alas they will do it again all to soon.

Coming up a month for us now too. Also every single person at the meeting (about 60% of the office, I would guess) voted for a ballot.
