The extending of deliveries under SDD and now the lapsing on top the deliveries have been really hit in recent years. However the PHG (or locker duties) have hardly changed at alllillywhite wrote:SNAP!jockstrapp wrote:The PHG in our office should be on minimum wage because he's a useless w@nker who only took the job because a walk would kill him. Oh and yeah why not work for nothing and save RM the minimum wage

I think someone like myself should be paid a small fortune .
Why ? ?
because I come in early so therefore NEVER late
because I use my car therefore others get their bags earlier and the drivers have an easy time
because I do lots of different jobs within RM
And finally
because I am a really nice guy

With door to dustbins anda 30 hour week im on around 290 a week average, 40 hours on the minium wage would be a paycut.
That shows just how crap the minium wage is. :mfo

Don't you think we have enough trouble, with RM trying to get rid of long serving Posties. Without giving them an incentive to get rid of more?hooniebagoonie wrote:i think there should also be a sliding scale of wages dependent on how long a service you have.....i personally dont think that someone with say 30 years of time in should be on the same wage as a person who has done 1 year....maybe if Royal Fail paid its staff a loyalty bonus for each year they stayed with them after say a minimum of 3 years it could keep staff that have valuable experience in the different tasks involved in the job 9its a nightmare in my office with the turnover of new staff not knowing how to sort etc) ......also drivers and PHG staff are no longer paid for the different type of skills they have to use (unlike the good old days)
It'd be nice to get the extra money. But the cost is too high IMHO.

There is also a legal issue to paying people more to do the same work but don't you get extra leave the longer you're in.andy2007 wrote:Don't you think we have enough trouble, with RM trying to get rid of long serving Posties. Oh come on. Let's not start going down that route again. Just because someone has such objectionable opinions, doesn't mean that he's Crozier. The General Public use this site too. And many are taken in by RM propoganda about us. He may actually have believed that what he said was right.vinnieb5 wrote::cfo we know its you crozier !!quadeck wrote:To be fair theres alot harder jobs for less money.
It's better and more effective to educate these people, than insult them.

Ex PHGs still get more than the rest of us and higher SA/overtime rates even though they've now been 'ex' for nine years. Wish I could become an ex PHG but there's no way of course.andy2007 wrote:Don't you think we have enough trouble, with RM trying to get rid of long serving Posties. I once asked RM (through the 'Ask Allan' thing) why we still have this discrimination. Their so-called Head of Rewards didn't even attempt to justify it.
