The Dread.
I have only been with RM for around 18 months and I can honestly say I dread every night thinking that I have to go back in tomorrow. I sit here wondering wether i'll get the manager on my case to take out extra work when there are people paid til 5 coming back at 3:30-4pm. I don't want the overtime and I don't want statutory allowance beacuse i'm happy finishing at 3:30pm but my manager thinks otherwise. I wonder why it is okay for some people who do work overtime to book til 5pm even though they are finishig at around the same time as me when last week we were told RM were coming down on people booking excess overtime. I wonder if any of the managers at my depot have any previous experience or even any managerial qualifications. I don't bother asking the managers at our depot anything anymore because I know the answer I get will be "i'll get back to you" and I know they won't. I have started drinking more that I used to, I am more tired than I used to be. I work for Parcelforce btw. Sunday night is the worst, I hate it. I'm sitting here now thinking about phoning in sick tomorrow because I can't believe it's only midweek and i've just had enough. I was never like this at my previous place of work. Royal Mail sort you selves out.

Re: The Dread.
What if he can't quit? What if he needs the money badly enough to endure a working hell of a nightmare? What if he has a young family to feed and clothe? What if he has a mortgage? And considering that Britain has long ceased being the industrial giant she only recently was, and that there's more chance of me developing breasts than of getting a better, equally well-paid job this side of 2012, would you still just blandly state he quits?calpsy wrote:He beat me to it ! !deggyg wrote:when it gets like that, quit.for your own sanity and for those around you.

words of wisdom from 'the runner' or oliver (can i have some more 'work' as i'm home by 12:30)
but on a serious note if it's getting to you that much have a break before royal fail breaks you ....your health is far more important than pleasing these jerks they label 'managers'

I bet your a right laugh at workcalpsy wrote: Its your own fault and deserve it .
There are little to no jobs where I am, and even though I hate the office work, the managers and the pressure. I AM FORCED TO STAY. I have a morgage, kids and people rely on me. People like you make me sick. Have some compassion man for gods sake.

Run, rabbit run. Dig that hole, forget the sun.
And when at last the work is done. Don't sit down, it's time to dig another one

Re: The Dread.
Why not point out to management the individuals who are claiming "ghost" overtime and ask him if he wouldnt mind taking a look at it. Not fair you are being singled out is it? Why suffer in silence?smok3y666 wrote:I have only been with RM for around 18 months and I can honestly say I dread every night thinking that I have to go back in tomorrow. You really need to nip this in the bud mate. One thing I've learned about this company is that it is every man for himself at times.
Best of luck mate and stay strong!!

Re: The Dread.
Come on now, is there any need for that Calpsy?
There may be a lot of jobs available where you are. But where I am, it can take months to find another job. And that's if you aren't fussy about what you do. If you have standards, it can take much longer. There's just too many people, going for too few jobs.
Oh, it looks like there's loads, if you look for vacancies. But when it comes to actually applying, the truth hits you like a sledgehammer!
Don't you think it'd be better to try to do something about the bullying, than tell people to gamble on getting another job, before they loose their Home?
I don't know how long it is. But there's a delay between volunterily leaving your job, and being eligible for Benefits.
And as for the joke about burning money. Don't you think that's in rather bad taste, in the current financial climate?
