WHY ARE THE REST STILL WORKING

Informed today we are striking from 10am Friday and saturday. So another days pay lost while others are still working. Come monday we will have a backlog of 2 days work to take out and deliver because the union have only called us out and let others work on still.
just how long does the union think we will put up with this for. Just who else is being balloted and when exactly if ever are they going to join us.

There's 500+ other offices balloting,waiting for a ballot,or are on strike,we are not alone.

We need a national strike 1 week before christmas then we will see if Royal Mail can talk to the CWU.

Offices in Scotland were on strike at least a month before London went on strike.
This isn't London leading the way folks offices all over are going on strike the problem is it's only London thats getting the headlines. We're all striking though as far as I can see for different reasons but we do have a common reason which is wherever you are your job is changing and you're not getting any pay rise.

However to get the maximum effect you will all have to combine and strike at least some of the time at the same time.

correct but as I pointed out in the other thread the CWUs tactic of individual ballots was always bound to have this effect. Some are screaming to get a ballot and I fear we may be loosing some potential supporters just because of the time it takes to get the ballot going.
However, the National Ballot due in August I hope will redress the situation.

The national ballot is coming ... eventually. Decision on the ballot first week in August, then (if they decide to go ahead) 2/3 weeks before the result... it will be Sept before anything happens. Do you detect that the people at the top of the CWU aren't at all keen ?

Those at the top of our union haven't a clue. They're dragging their feet on this. Pulling some out while other's still work will cause more division among the members. How long do they think people will put up with their incompetence for. Either get it sorted out or stop calling strike days that only effect 1 in 10 of the workforce

Good point. But that doesn't invalidate my point. And we all remember what happened in 2007.
