In our place duty holders were put on other dutys but if there were none they would have to change thier day off or work in a nearby office!. It stinks.FLUFFY wrote:Exactly my thoughts too..what about the duty holders

Re: Lapsing out of summer.
we absorb 4 walks. 2 of the dutys are held, on the first week, the holders were told they are doing something else and not the duty they r ment to be on. one crumbled and accepted it, the other stood up like a man and made sure he done his walk. all hell broke loose as they wasnt prepared for this and the absorbtion for that day didnt happen.

We are not lapsing yet, Management tried it but we made a fuss and they backed off, but I think its coming back to bite to haunt us again...Just one qestion what if you go over your time or upto your time on your own duty, Do you still have to lapse for free? or do you claim overtime?...May as well work to rule as far as I can see..They can stick job and finish up their arse!!!

Re: Lapsing out of summer.
the walk holder goes spare in our office, much to his/her anger.or in the case of one they invented a duty that consists of delivering all specials and dropping pouches off, made him upto full time and gets every satday off,but can work on packets if he wants on satdays
in middle of new geo-route that we were told would get rid of all lapsing and put extra on duties as it would take some duties out but now are told that lapsing will come in again if still making no savings
have been ballotted today

Re: Lapsing out of summer.
You do not repeat do not have to go over your time most do it i belive because they choose the easy option not to rock the boat afraid perhaps of the repercusions of upseting the dum dim's who mostly would hold a grudge. It however causes more hassle if you do 'work your hours' again it's my belief if you do the o/t they can brush it under the carpet with a lie and falsify the reasons ....i cut off every time as im in a postion not to want o/t but i know some are reliant on the extra but for the moment bite the bullet and do it properly

However the Unions hands were tied when they recommend acceptance of the Pay and Mod deal and 64% of those voting went along with the recommendationupmyroad wrote:Were still not in it as of yet. Re: Lapsing out of summer.
To be honest I don't think anyone in our office or the area had even heard of this LAPSING of duties untill about 2 or so month's ago. At a work time learning we were told the rest of the country has been doing it for sometime now. We really cant see how it can work in our office as we're about 3 mile's or so from our walk's. and during the rush hour it can take up to 40 minutes just to get too them.TrueBlueTerrier wrote:However the Unions hands were tied when they recommend acceptance of the Pay and Mod deal and 64% of those voting went along with the recommendationupmyroad wrote:Were still not in it as of yet.
