For the record,my answer is a yes.
Absolutely agree Postman :Applause :Applause :Applause
and here - we have one female manager at our place that everyone will do the best for, the alley runs smoothly when she is in charge, there are no problems on
sorting and packets are shared equitably. If we ask for help she goes looking for volunteers and when she comes back you know she has done her best so you don't mind if you have to go over. She also never queries overtime, ever. She treats us with respect and gets it back in spades, she is way and above the best manager I have ever dealt with in RM.
I think her twin sister is our line manager lol
Think you're right mate.

Royal Mail seems to survive, indeed thrive on confrontation and controversy, with it's rule by decree style of management and it's panic driven cuts to the workforce and customer service.

Have they ever considered how much more successful they would be if they treated their employees as people instead of simply assets that are expendable like the machinery they replace or upgrade on a regular basis.

Have they also considered the customer loyalty and respect they would experience if they were seen to be workplace peacemakers rather than industrial warmongers.

There is no doubt that we need modernisation as a business but slow, steady and considered progress with consultation will produce a better result for everyone concerned than a hell bent charge into the future with staff, unions and customers left behind amidst the debris of a once great but now greedy business.

The management style of our business has to change and our new chairman hasn't yet picked up on this - we don't trust them because they continually lie to us - they are less experienced than most of the people they manage, but refuse to learn from or consult them - and they are driven by the most discredited reward system in recent times - "THE BONUS"

The senior management will never hear the truth from below whilst they rule by fear - they will only hear what they expect. Undelivered mail isn't the only thing that lies hidden in this business and it's time a few more doors to dark places were opened.

Royal Mail holds up well against it's unfairly supported competition and crippling restrictions on pricing agreements, but a happy and supported workforce would render those problems irrelevant - it's true that we are simply an asset, but we are the best asset Royal Mail has - and when you have an asset that good - you bloody well look after it !!!
Since I have been a member on here, I will have to say... that is the best post I have ever read :Applause :Applause :Applause
