ONE TO ONE (INTERVIEWS)

Post by k979aaa »

ONE TO ONE? No not the phone company who got brought by t mobile but interviews by management has anyone had one of these ghastly interviews not looking forward to mine as we have been told to expect them in the not to distant future!. What are the questions. ? Can you fail. ? Do you get court martial-ed. ? And can you avoid this. ?

Hmmm, personally I would never go in a closed office with management without my union rep or a witness.
Run, rabbit run. Dig that hole, forget the sun.
And when at last the work is done. Don't sit down, it's time to dig another one

Good advice but the union rep will be awfully busy with all managers in the office conducting these at the same time.

I don't care what their reasons are, I'm not attending any interview behind closed doors without my rep. It's not that I don't trust RM, :left: it's just that they can't be trusted. Anyway it's always best to have a witness and what have they to hide?

I once refused to sign mine as the gaffer at the time was suggesting it was not a legitimate sick absence.

Told him where he could stick it.

Well, from what I have heard it's just a way to bypass the union by going for people one on one. Devide and conquer and all that.

Really, do not go on your own, and if no rep or mate is available, do not go in at all, end of. :cool

It would not be A ONE TWO ONE then would it so why can we not do it as a group just like the team talk (WTL) or (Work Time Lecturing) just like the good old days instead of this most insidious ruse!.

For the reasons I gave above. Its not done as a group because it is easier to lie to individuals than a team. One to One's are easier for management to minipulate and bully people!

Well said i think soon we will all be told too attend these interviews as i was told by my manager but we must all be on our guard and as you have said it is easier for them to minipulate and bully people when you are on your own!.

i'd go in ..... say nothing, admit to nothing, sign nothing, if it gets heated in there tell them your suspending the meeting and tell him your getting a witness/rep because you feel uncomfortable ,lol :nana

 As far as I am aware, you have a right to be to take someone in with you. If you've ever had a back to work interview before, you should have been given a sheet of that meeting, and it states clearly you have a right to be accompanied.Don't go in alone, if rep not available you can take workmate in with you.

Had one about a year ago. All it involved was asking how I was, did I enjoy the job, was I looking to progress in RM, did I want to be a manager, would I be interested in more training.

1. OK not bad
2. Yes to the Outdoor part and No to the Indoor.
3. Yes
4. No.
5. Yes if it had bearing on job or CWU.

But as people have stated don't go in without rep/witness.
