Anyone work at Watford DO? I've been asked to move over temporarily as a guy has just downed tools and buggered off basically, and as I live very near, my current officwe has asked if I would cover for them, but i've heard Watford is the worst run hell hole in RM?
Any feedback would be super so I dont land myself in it :-)

I, in Royal Mail terms, have never known 'tempoary' to mean anything less than 'permanent', but if it's nearer your home and you might appreciate a bit more time off work ( strikes ) then this just might be the move you have been waiting for.

Well, only just been offered a new contract even though my old one ran out at the end of June, but the new contract is exactly the same terms (3 months fixed term) so I think im going to bite the bulled and reject it, and possibly just not bother going back to work tomorrow!
If my old contract ran out, and so far have not signed or agreed to the new offer, am I still liable for giving notice to quit, or can I just walk?

I'm not completely sure. But as far as I'm aware, if you've no Contract of Employment, then either party (you or RM) could terminate your employment whenever they want to, without any notice. But I'd check with a Rep first, just to make sure.
