Bath Postal strike on the cards

The Bath area's mail deliveries could be plunged into chaos as a strike vote looms at the centre which processes the south west's post.

Around 170 workers at two depots in Bristol will take part in a nationwide strike over jobs, pay and services tomorrow.

And staff at depots in Keynsham, Yate and Portishead have also voted to take strike action and are likely to walk out at some point next month.

A further 11 delivery depots are currently in the process of balloting for strike action over Royal Mail cost-cutting plans, with results to be revealed by the end of the month.

And within the next two days the firm will also be given notice of strike ballots for the giant mail processing centre at Filton which deals with all post for the south west before it reaches local delivery depots.
