Re: RESERVE'S AND D2D's
not sure if there is an agreement but i used to speak to the regular delivery guy and usually they would want to do all themselves if not 20% per day if the regular guy did not leave a message saying what he had done, i would not touch them

Re: RESERVE'S AND D2D's
Loathe them or love them they are part of our working day.
The actual Door to Door Agreement can be found in the download section of the Union Room. I don't recollect there being any particular reference to Reserves.
How the D2D's are completed and by whom is subject to any local agreement and/or discussion with the postie responsible for the specific walk. The only requirement is that the D2D's are completed during the time span specified (usually a week) with Saturday an optional day for delivery in consultation with DOM. Failure to deliver D2D items can lead to conduct code issues. To cover yourself always keep the DOM informed of the delivery progress of the D2D items that are on your walks.

Re: RESERVE'S AND D2D's
it doesnt matter if you are the reserve or the regular duty holder its still a minimum of 20% must be done on any day monday to friday. as said before the saturday is only an optional day for the postperson. if the reserve doesnt do the 20% of d2d then the burden would be left with the duty holder to do a 25% minimum to complete the amount on the duty, and there is no way they have to do 25%. if the minimum amount is not completed on any given day during the week in our office they are either granted an extra payment like on a bank holiday with doing them in 4 days or 20% is entitled to be left.

Re: RESERVE'S AND D2D's
There is NO official agreement that 20% of D2D's have to be done daily!
The agreement states that the D2D's have to be done mon to fri,by fri.
What has obvioulsy happened is that as it's a 5 day week thing the common sence approach is to do 20% a day.Which makes sence as it spreads the workload.
So if you don't want to do your D2D's say on a wed,and your manager acts up and wants to discipline you with it he hasn't got a leg to stand on as long as you complete the D2D's by the fri.
The norm also seems to be that rest day covers do 20% as well.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Re: RESERVE'S AND D2D's
our floaters/reserves are not required to do D2D's
which is why most weeks i do 80% and leave 20% just to make a point
onbviously excluding those weeks im on long weekend

I do 20% per day normally which means my duty gets 20% failed each week when not done on my day off except this week on 6 days so had to do the lot for once.

Re: RESERVE'S AND D2D's
Our floaters (reserves) do no d2d's so as I do 20% a day, I have no option than to do them on a Saturday, however I think that is seen as being a local agreement. I make sure on my d2d sheet that the street's I have done on a Saturday are for the saturday just to make the point, and so I can't be accused of fraud!

Re: RESERVE'S AND D2D's
It's not fraud if you make no claim to have delivered them !!! (the final 20%) and they are to be delivered during the week mon / fri if you do them saturday it's voluntry as we all know saturday is deemed a light day !! so no provisions for d2d to be delivered so you don't have to do them

Re: RESERVE'S AND D2D's
I'm a floater and I do all the D2D's on all of my duties, i.e. 100% per day. It's a good £115 per week extra for me and only takes an extra hour in delivery time (plus an hour putting them together - yeah, I know).

Re: RESERVE'S AND D2D's
spedley - an extra £115 a week??? Wow, can I do your d2d's?
axeman - I cannot remember the last time I've had a light saturday, they simply don't exist in our office! I'm afraid every day is the same for me timewise, but hey, at least I'm consistent!!
