Why the big panic?

We've had all sorts of flu outbreaks, which invariably kill some people, so why worry about this one?

Personally I think it is a big con to take our minds off the recession, i.e. leave people more scared of dying than losing their job, home, savings - it might kill you but then it won't matter then will it?

Yep in the recession of the 80s it was Aids - millions would die from it in the UK alone. OK it is a terrible disease and I feel for those suffering from it, but it never did turn out as bad as the Government said it would.

Sex is free,well sometimes,and that makes it an anathema to the kill joys in Government as they cannot tax it so lets say that it will kill you.

Everybody was getting fat as well so lets say that burgers will kill because of BSE.

me too well over a year since we had one ,huddles lasted a week long stopped ,apparently the DOM is paid out off his budget for us to have them , oh for a have your say survey ,not had one for over a year as well ,whats the betting he is filling them in himself!!!

You lucky barstewards, we have one every week same old bollocks health and safety, dont do this, do that, but maybe think about doing that other thing?

Can I catch it?

The virus is contagious and can spread between people, although it is not known how easily. Transmission of this new flu virus is thought to occur in the same way as seasonal flu:

From person to person by coughing or sneezing.
*
From touching an object such as a door handle which has virus on it from someone infected with flu.

I have just watched a news piece stating that if you have flu like symptoms contact nhs helpline or your local gp and you will get help.This is untrue i have been very ill and away from work with flu since friday 10/7/09 My partner phoned the nhs who did nothing but refer me to my gp .We then phoned my gp three times to no avail and was told by the gp nurse quote "go back to work when you feel better". Not sure if i had normal flu or swine flu i was forced to visit my gp in person . I was sent away straight away and was told i had all the classic signs of swine flu and that i would get a phone call so i can collect the tamiflu.My partner was told to collect the drugs when she arrived she was refused the drugs as i was not asmatic,and that i needed to be diagnosed within 48 hours.We did all we could to get help and got none ,although i was in a very bad way with my breathing i am getting better .What makes me angry is the news reports telling you that you can get help but in reality you get none.Worst of all i was going to return to work and had the potential to infect my 61 work mates and the community that i and they deliver to.Only my persistance in this matter has stopped this.I am now isolated in my house with only standard lemsip to help me.This is just my case how many more people are not getting any help? Royal mail has left me in the dark as well (go back not go back get a stage or not ???????)

It is royalmails standard litigation denial letter you cannot catch it through the mail but we will put you in the face of danger/risk without precautions and it is your fault for working are we aloud too refuse to go in places of high danger doctors/hospitals?. Or can we sue them too high heaven?.

Why we could be sued if we spread our flu land-en mail in a doctors or hospital!. has this been conclusively dis-proven?.
