You're right...Could it be not only RM's figures that don't add up?
Mind you 1597 or 1607 is still too many, but there are thieves in all walks of life. A policeman recently arrested for selling bootleg CD's never mind the MP expenses scandal, which is a far higher percentage of thieves compared to RM.

I would imagine the figures would also include non delivery of junk mail/D2D - it's all jacked together with the all encompassing wilful-delay conduct. Not sure if there is even a 'theft charge' in royal mail and it all falls through WD. I may be wrong though.

But yes, it's still too many for my liking.

185,000 employees on average so its still less than 1% of the total work force, and below the national average if my maths is correct.

now--just work out what % of Managers have been sacked or otherwise for dishonesty over the past wee while,make a few assumptions about those who have not been caught out (yet) and i'll bet it works out more than 1%.
