The Rehabilitation Code

Post by brothermagrew »

The main aim of this Code, first introduced in 1999, is to promote the use of rehabilitation and
early intervention in the claims process so that the injured person makes the best and quickest
possible medical, social and psychological recovery. This objective applies whatever the severity
of the injury sustained by the claimant. The Code provides a framework supported by all the
main associations for insurers and personal injury lawyers in the UK, but is neither compulsory
nor the only way to approach rehabilitation. The objectives of the Rehabilitation Code will be
met whenever the parties co-operate to assess and then provide for the claimant's rehabilitation
needs.

Go to the Press!

Post by andy2007 »

The Press would love to get hold of a story like that! Royal Mail keeping people on the Sick, rather than allowing them to do something useful for their money. The Public would be outraged!

For example: I'm on rehab myself (AOD). But without the "Light Duties", I'd have had to stay off work. It's already nearly 2 weeks since the accident. And it could take several more weeks, before I can get back to my normal Duty. I think the Public would have been justifiably outraged, if people like me. Were relaxing at Home, just because there were certain types of Duty that they weren't physically capable of doing for a while. :hmmmm

Royal Mail managers.....about as popular as a t.urd in a swimming pool!
The DDA/Equality Act demands action,NOT words......adjustments NOT Occupational Health referrals.Case No:2505901/09
Royal Mail is an Equal Opportunities Employer..It discriminates against everybody.

I was "requested" to attend an Atos meeting 80 miles away to discuss AOD injury. I requested it be brought closer. I have had no Atos calls since. I asked my Asst Manager to rearrange meeting, to which he agreed, but nothing. I asked again, and the same thing occurred...or hasn't if you see what I mean!
So...as he was on A/L I rang last week and spoke to his "cover" and made the same request, but, guess what...still no Atos contact.
I'm due back soon after a few months, so what to do now?
E-mailed union rep today, still awaiting any sort of reply.
I need a Rehab Programme, but it doesn't seem like anyone wants to supply me with one.
May have to go back to GP to get sick extension 'til it's sorted out.
Don't want to, but what choice do I have, as I'm not going back unless the "Light Duties" thing is arranged.
Otherwise I'll be doing a full town/rural after a day or so.

Any advice, info appreciated. TA!
