You know, actually DO something about the situation rather than just go on the 'Net whining about it?
Strange comment - I counted before your post 4 posts by so called unhappy people and 7 wishing him luck.

Unhappy  members even though at least 1 says he is happy in his job and I was a mild comment about freedom.

Hmm, someone who goes on the net just to whine about people whining?

You may call us sad, but boy you take the oscar.

This site has provided me with countless support, and it's free advice as well.

It's nice to be noticed :Very Happy Just to be clear, I enjoy delivering mail, getting out, talking to people and sometimes even delivering to them good news, it's just the constant bullying and mismanagement I dislike.

I'm not whining about anything. I'm making the point that if someone isn't happy in a job, then look for something else, because you're a long time dead.

Incidentally TBT, you counted four unhappy people you say, so then why is it a strange comment?
Doesn't this particular four count then, or is there some other reason to discount thier number in the "unhappy poll"?

Sorry I think you missed the point of my post - from your post I read it as that most were complaining about or where unhappy about the job. So I counted the posts and found 4 which were negative and 7 which wished him luck so I just wanted to redress the balance.

Oh, you "read" it like that, did you?

So I counted the posts and found 4 which were negative and 7 which wished him luck so I just wanted to redress the balance.
"Redressing the balance" of a bias you read into it?

Sounds more like it was you who "missed the point", as I wasn't counting who was or wasn't unhappy, only that people were.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

'Cause whining on the net is more fun.
Just spilt stain-remover down my shirt. Now how do I get that out?

I've always said there is nothing wrong with the job, it's the way its been run thats the problem! - I quite enjoy working in an environment where managers run around like headless chickens trying to do the job and fail, i won't go that extra mile for royal mail unless pay is significantly increased, so all in all its great watching management make a mess. The time to go in my opinion is when management know what they are doing!
Quite right - but I'm not working til I'm 200 years old. :chuckle

Thanks for all your comments..I did really enjoy the job once I got out on the road. And my colleagues were a great bunch, the craic made it worth going in everyday. Many things have changed for the worse in 20 years.I think the SDD changed things for me.There was nothing better than seeing a kid looking out for the postie to bring their birthday cards before they went to school, now they're lucky to get them before they go to bed!! But the main reason for taking EVR, personally, was the lack of confidence for the future of RM. The bullying by LMs and Dims, which i've seen, heard and challenged on many occasions is set to get worse.Ok, we know they're under pressure but so are we. The lack of training for DO's, the increasing Junk workload and loss of OT are factors for a failing business.Directors getting huge bonuses and putting in a pay freeze, need I say more..(British Gas all over again?). We all know ways to fix these problems, but as always we're never asked..( Mon-Fri deliveries, SA saturday for specials, flowers etc..).I hope I'm wrong, and you all have a fantastic turnaround. But in the words of Dragons Den...IM OUT..!! :nana
