Thanks people for your nice comments.

Sadly no response from the Prime Ministers Office - as soon as I get one (assuming I do?) I will post.

Gordon Brown in office soon. :dance :pray

GOOD LUCK TO US ALL

So RM is being leant on behind the scenes?

GB did say he was going to listen and as leader of the labour party he should listen to all the political levy payers of the CWU that voted yes to IA and find out direct from the rank and file why they voted yes which is made even more important by the fact that we voted no 4 years ago to IA !

Just because I've left I still care very stongly about this. I'm with you all the way, but for f's sake do what I did. Copy the letter either in handwriting or typed and POST it. By emailing you are showing no faith in Royal Mail. We know that RM and the humble postman/woman don't have the same respect as we once had. But don't let's throw it away. Put it in an envelope and POST it to: 10 Downing Street, London, SW1A 2AA. Just remember your counterpart; don't post it first class on Friday, or 2nd class on Thursday!

Ex postman - sorry have to diagree with you.

As a Royal Mail employee (only 2 ish years) and a customer of RM for 20+ years I KNOW that the service is not as good as it could be.

I sent the post to the Prime Ministers's office knowing that it would get there. I got confirmation that it did. DONE DEAL. No walk to Post Office for Special Delivery or Recorded. In fact was 'tracked and traced' within minutes. No cost save my fingers (and nerves).

I dont think I did the wrong thing.

GOOD LUCK TO US ALL

Someone at least fairly high up will read it and hopefully it will p***k their conscience :pray
... and if Gordon then leans on our MASSIVELY-OVERPAID and UNDERWORKED leader to force him to enter into proper negotiations with the CWU, I for one will go round saying

What's the difference between Gordon Brown and Alan Leighton ?

One is prepared to have his conscience pricked, the other is a p***k with no conscience
