The twinning of political and trade union activity had its place 109 years ago - I won't go into the historical differences of yesterday and today - there was a need for recognition then that doesn't exist now.
It would be better to have no affiliation whatsoever rather than follow a tainted path. Any funding should, if politics is essential to some, be used to begin a new workers party and in 109 years we may be back where we are now.
