Got it in one mate. Funny thing is a lot of them say do it anyway - but I couldn't bring myself to do it. I think it's a matter of pride.dingo wrote:Lecker you find yourself voting yes because it is the right thing to do and you dont want to sitch your mates up.
After all when we win you can still go on VR but with the respect of your mates. Mid june seems will be a very intresting time in Royal Mail in London.
So being proud of anything is OK as long as some one sees your pride. Sorry could not agree less.Night Tonic wrote:Pride is fine if anyone notices. If they don't its the equivalent of pissing in the wind.
This is NT talking about the pride he felt in voting no, to the Pay & Mod agreement on 29/11/07Night Tonic wrote:Pride is fine if anyone notices. If they don't its the equivalent of pissing in the wind.
http://www.royalmailchat.co.uk/communit ... ilit=prideWhat sickens me is all the blame that seems to fly around as to who voted YES - even suggesting that lists are compiled - what point will THAT serve??? We should be sticking together, not providing amusement for hideaway DOMs. Sure I'm upset at the result but that takes nothing away from the pride I feel in standing up for what I think is right and not act like some spoilt baby because things haven't gone my way. We still have local issues to tackle AND pensions and if we can't stick together even in the aftermath of the vote, what hope is there????
For me too. Pride is a personal thing in knowing or believing you have done the right thing and sticking to what you believe in. Which is why I will not walk into the manager's office and sign the bit of paper, although it has been offered, until we have achieved a decent future for those remaining in the job who are not fortunate enough to be able to walk away. It is about being able to face YOURSELF - not about what others think.TrueBlueTerrier wrote:So being proud of anything is OK as long as some one sees your pride. No one sees your pride when a son or daughter does well at school, no one sees the pride I take in a job well done, Postman will or at least should be proud of the success of this forum but no-one will see or know if he is.
Pride is not a matter of recognition but IMO knowing that you did something right.
