Complaints over BNP leaflets

Northamptonshire Police has made a formal complaint to Royal Mail after its newsletter was delivered with BNP leaflets inside.
A force spokesperson said the leaflets had been inserted into the newsletter, Home Beat, and distributed by Royal Mail without consent.
A Royal Mail spokesman said this went against its guidelines and has apologised.

From what I have learnt, more often than not, this is done when posties take the D2D's home and prepare them there. It does not come as a suprise to learn that managers support this unofficially.

This week I delivered all my election leaflets (they weren't done when I was on holiday), 9 leaflets and I made sure that they weren't inside each other. As with d2d's, they are not meant to be inserted inside each other, that is why they should not be prepped at home. This is DOM's not allowing d2d's to be prepped on RM's time and this should be highlighted. Obviously the postie will be left to take the flak while the manager escapes.

Putting your bag down every drop would further slow them down, which is good.

They should be prepped in your frame mate,i throw mine off when i get back from my delivery on a saturday morning ready for mondays delivery,which would most of the time mean that i deliver them all monday and have no d2d grief for the week.

Why don't you go home when finished on saturday and rest your feet and leave mondays work for monday or you might give RM ideas and think what they might find you to do in that spare time you've created monday morning in the not to distance future

for one the police have a cheek complaining about the bnp especially with thier track record, and for another i struggle to do d2d`s in a week never mind all in one day and yes i tuck them all inside the biggest one

Yes, you can see these nuggets arriving in work every Monday morning carrying boxes of prepped D2D items. "The kids gave me a hand!" Great, isn't it? Child labour, all done for well under the minimum wage. These goons would send their own kids down the pit if the Tories hadn't closed them down.

hope you dont live in Copeland mate- or if you vote for someone the council dont want you voting for, your ballot MAY be spoilt, because oop North, they are using CARDBOARD BOXES to hold all the results in- even though they have SECURE METAL ONES AT THEIR DISPOSAL.

Understand where your coming from mate,but i finish well before my time plus i have to wait for the Mrs as she works a bit later then me on a Sat,so while im standing about doing nothing i dont see no harm in preping D2Ds in time RM are paying me by the way i dont have spare time first thing Monday,theres plenty of work sitting in our office.

Truthfully speaking isn't it the case that no mail e.g. election material / D2Ds should be taken home and prepared for the following week. Wouldn't employees who do such daft things, be leaving themselves wide open to accusations of theft of mail? As has been clearly said D2Ds are prepped in Royal Mail time.

That's what I thought, bringing things home could lead to an accusation of theft (especially these days with everyone being targets for dismissal).
