jeez thats a lot of cds. thats a well horrible thing to happen. hell of a bad crack. take it cops dint find out who did it? was he a cd seller? either someone who made enquiries or a pretend buyer and cased the place or someone who knows what he had in the first place. irreplaceable no doubt..

Re: Royal Mail's reply to missing mail
had a reply from rm customer services in plymouth about the ebayer.. i said to them please do not send stamps as compensation as that will be insulting to intelligence, and i clearly stated i wanted action.
they said they have included all available service information and cannot identify any reason why this problem has occured.
what exactly do they investigate.. do they ask the seller if the package arrived? do they personally go round peoples houses and ask? how do they know they can't identify why the problem has occured?
guess what they sent me?? a fooken book of stamps ffs..

Re: Royal Mail's reply to missing mail
lol.. its guess work trying to figure out if its been delivered or not.. nope, i checked rm website again this very minute and it still says item has been accepted at post office yesterday, and was delivered today.
i know recorded delivery tracking does work cos i mailed two items recently ish.. both to surrey coming to think of it. i checked rm website and it said one had been delivered and gave the time. the other said it had been attempted to be delivered and was at sorting office.
so two worked and one didnt.
the tesco recorded delivery is still in process tut..

Re: Royal Mail's reply to missing mail
is there a difference between codes starting with DW and BR?
on one receipt, it says BR and the other DW ... both were 2nd class recorded

Re: Royal Mail's reply to missing mail
i got back in touch with hi im sarah... earlier. had a word with customer services, he said they sent me stamps cos i didnt send the proof of postage. i said u wat? i said i sent a photocopy of the receipt cos if i sent the original and that got lost as well which would mean that id be totally stuffed.
he said send in the original and you'll get compensation. apparently, he told me i can only get compensation for the actual items and not the postage as well to send to me in the first place. initial cost was £8.71 plus £10 postage.. i said to him that because the seller hasn't received, i cannot get my full refund which the seller said is prepared to do. so if the seller had received, id get all my cash back....if it hadn't been delivered that is. but if the seller is really saying it hasn't been received, then i should have the whole lot back. i don't get how come im only going to get the value of the cds only?
anyway, i sent the original receipt to rm plymouth. (i cant see what the difference is cos theyre both going to state the same info). they received my mail, cos they sent me stamps for the two tesco fiasco..i asked him how come you received my mail when the other mail i send disappear or whatever.
lol, theyre going to get a third next week. or shall i just say fek it.

Re: Royal Mail's reply to missing mail
JSW, as far as I am aware electronic signatures are only produced for Special Delivery items although I may be wrong. For it to be classified as delivered they must have the signature either way. Signed for items are only updated as delivered on the system when the signature form has been returned to the office by the postie.

ho ho ho... i had a special delivery this morning from an ebay seller.. it was special delivery. gawd knows why because ordinary recorded delivery would have been ok. anyway, special delivery label on packet, postie had no pda, signed the little slip..
yeh, maybe they didnt get back to s.o in time for it to be updated. hang on, i'll have a nose in rm site..
