Think he means the punctuation bit mate.
The time has come to stop turning the other cheek, time to stop shaking our heads in bitter dismay, time to stop mumbling our angry words.
The time has come for union.
The time has come for union.

So you think it's ok to knock yourself out for a public company whose top civil servants earn more individually than the PM & half the cabinet combined? A public company that either has poor or mixed performance results? A public company that is also quite happy to minimise the people that provide the service to the public, maximise the work on those same employees ( which if you need to be reminded is hard physical labour in all weather conditions ), and to top it all off have announced a pay freeze for all employees ( no bother if you are "earning" the thick end of £1M p.a. in addition to multi thousand pound bonuses, with extra pension top ups - not so much fun if you are earning 5/8ths of £15Kp.a. ( based on a 25hr contract ) - in fact of the managers I've spoken to are equally p*ssed off with the pay freeze, and have said the CMA aren't thinking of accepting it with a smile - doubt they'd do much else, but the sentiment is there ). While we should all be glad of having a job, why should we be glad when in the last 2 years, prices have gone up for most of the essentials even if interest rates have dropped, yet our pay hasn't got close to matching it.....no good having a job if you can't afford to live.pocky20 wrote:is that it buddy .do one if you cant say anything better m8 and keep your eye on the clock
Excuse me if that was a bit ranty, but if you work for a company that doesn't want to help you out, why would you want to help it out?
I don't suppose your mouth bleeds every 28 days, does it?

Seriously...I'm social minded and happy with my job and I'm not a union member but I start when I'm supposed to, take my break, don't use my car and work to my allocated finish time. I'm more than happy to do overtime as long as they pay me for it. If they don't, then I don't do it. Simples!
I couldn't possibly comment as to this persons "idiot" status but as long as people continue to do "free" overtime then Royal Mail will continue to exploit them. We have a round in our office that one of us throws up while the rest are doing the IPS. We then have a bloke come in and deliver it. He gets paid for 20 hours a week. He uses his car, doesn't wear the correct uniform (adidas shorts and reebok trainers are his preference) or safety gear (hi-vis and cycle helmet). I've bought this to the attention of a senior manager time and time again but the answer is always the same..."while we only have to pay 20 hours for a 35 hour duty then we aren't going to say anything to him".
I despair, I really do.

Re: I Want Your Job: Postman
Sorry chum, I thought you said "...if you can't say anything better...." and I did in a fairly coherent and reasoned manner - I was rather hoping for an equally coherent and reasoned response, if you disagreed with my point of view, maybe have some sort of a structured debate, rather than a glib reply that amounts to "can't answer that, can't be bothered" - but hey, I suppose that's the quality of manager they have stoodging on this sitepocky20 wrote:ok have it your way you think what you want .and i will do the same.

Oi! No abuse - you won't win that way........you'll show them up a lot more, if in a logical and reasoned manner, you demonstrate to them that they have been weighed & measured and have been found to be wanting - they have little answer to it ( see above )jaylime wrote:Pocky20 thick as a ghurkas foreskin.
