I for one, still live in hope!
You may not be far from the truth. There are also a number of legalities to be covered before privatisation can take place. I was with an ESI before privatisation of that and went on the 31st March when the company was due to be "privatised" on the 1st April - it was exactly a year later when the privatisation took place because all the legal niceties hadn't taken place. Even if the plan gets through parliament eventually it is going to be some considerable time before any change takes place. Not least of all the hostile reactions - the ESI was under the Thatcher years when everything was being sold off and there wasn't any hostile reaction to the sell offs then.

Problem is--we have another two years to go before we can sell back!!!!And even then only a %--however,i am reading through the plan again, and it states clearly that if the business is transferred out of the Company, then if you have held the shares for at least a year,R/M will buy them back at 'face 'value----so--maybe,just maybe, our palms will be greased!
