Good question and do you negotiate the variance in relation to the cost of living in your area i.e 3p 6.6p etc

Political Door to Door's topic Merged with election material topic.

had another reply from bob gibson the jist of it is the rate we are getting, although under the supposed minimum 3p per poll card was based on an old local agreement, also he went on to say that some units who used to get nothing for delivering poll cards are now receiving payment for them, and that RM offered a national across the board payment that was unacceptable so was rejected, so the upshot is be grateful that you are getting something and that they rejected a lower offer, and so what if other offices were cuter in there negotiations on poll card payments. This attitude stinks the "listen stop moaning be grateful we allowed different payments to be worked out and tough if yours was crap, also we have now made sure everyone gets payment of some kind (something we should have made sure of right at the off, but hey better late than never).
So anyway you just need to ignore the bit about the minimum payment on poll cards and hope you are in one of the well locally negotiated areas

I am slightly confused. We had polling cards this morning and they were 2nd class, are we supposed to get paid extra to deliver them? If so where in the agreement does it say "polling cards"? I understand addressed items are 6.6p per item and un-addressed items are 3p, but has'nt the postage costs already been met by paying for 2nd class?

Virtually everyone in our office is going past their finish time with bloody leaflets,
yet you are not allowed to claim overtime because it's the election material that's
taking you over.(stating the bloody obvious)
What a ridiculous agreement, even Bob Gibson offered us no hope...

"The delivery of election material is paid on a unit payment whatever is applicable to your office, this can range between 3p per item up to 6.6p per item. Election material does not attract overtime."

any chance the admin staff can organise a poll or something where we can say what our particular office got for delivering poll cards?
Or is it better the bob gibson way where we all keep it a secret from one another? (otherwise known as the Mushroom Method, where you are kept in the dark and fed s**t)

Actually AFAIK anyone can start or make a poll - just remember the rules and dont forget POSTMAN and the Moderating Team can delete/amend it as they see fit if it breaks the rules or spirit of the board.
