Less Royal Mail, more 'Snail Mail'

I AM very dissatisfied with the response I received when contacting the Royal Mail regarding delivery of a birthday card I received four days after it was posted — three days late for my birthday.

The card was posted in one BL area of Bolton to my address in another BL area, with a first class stamp and the correct postcode, clearly written.

The reply I received from Royal Mail customer services was that “it was not late enough to be classified as a delay”. Clearly, this is not satisfactory.

If you pay a first class price you should get a first class service.

I wonder if any other readers have had a similar experience?

In the days of stagecoach deliveries, I am sure that it would not have taken quite so long.

I call this “Snail Mail”, not Royal Mail first class delivery.

I hope someone from Royal Mail has explained, due to a large number of hours cut from the service this is the reason things like this happen?

dsa will always take priority nowadays treat as 1st class we are told
in reality it is only mailsort we have lost to private companies
and as norm public who pay 1st class treated as 2nd class citizens
big business ie banks insur etc are always priority

wanted next day garenteed should have sent it special
thats the point of specials
anyone but me notice it said postcode correct not any of the rest of the address.might be a clue...
