Correction. It wasn't the public service that made a profit. Business mail yes but public no.

Rhetoric? This pension will matter greatly in 18 months time when I retire. If you're retired, then you will know I stand to lose far more than you. Rhetoric no, realistic yes.

Everyone can opt-out and the option has been there for years. I just happened to stumble across one before I joined RM and as I won't be working no I won't be contributing back into a pension I didn't pay into in the first place . Given the sheer volume of pensions wiped out over the years, i don't see why everyone else should carry the can on the RM pension either if as some seem to believe, the deficit was due to the pension holiday. How right T-man is. Same old replies.

Nice to know I'm being talked about but misdirected I fear. Why is it that whenever things look like they're not going to plan, it ends up an infight on here. Did anyone here 5 live at 2pmish. A pps for the Government (Business I think) tried not to disagree with policy of part privatisation but did say that she thought their could be a lot better options. Just caught the end of it but she did say she would not like to think she could vote against the Government.

Apparently there are rumours that up to 8 PPS may revolt - 1 did at the start and resigned from his position. IIRC it was Pat McFaddens PPS.
